Nearly everything to be known about the human world is a few google searches away. It's a bit of a blessing and a curse. On one hand you have near infinite source of information to utilize for your own, but on the hand you lose the process of obtaining that information through short cuts. I'd say the process is just as important as results. Cause only through the process, you truly seek validation from what you learned. We are all taught to take whatever said on the internet as a grain of salt, I think that's the reason for that.
During this time of Road Fools 9, the internet wasn't as widely utilized as it is today and the habits of the past still existed. Here are some of the most well known pros of the time searching for a legendary spot. This was a time before smartphones and the unlimited perks that come with having one. Being lost and finding was part of this lifestyle. But I always thought that's half the fun of riding street. Wandering aimlessly to find something new to be entertained, that feeling that a spot lurks behind the corner, to really soak in the world around you like these guys did in the pursuit of Mt.Baldy.
Today's segment doesn't have much riding, you definitely don't really see any tricks but I find this stuff just as entertaining. To me this is where the heart of street riding really is, to find something new in the world to try to reclaim the something lost to everyone else. Enjoy.

I can't keep doing a post, a day. It's not that writing a little quip with a few easily googled information is hard, but I find myself posting videos that I may not be totally content with. This blog started cause I was tired of watching the same cookie cutter video posted on every other site and I refuse to let this devolve into the posting same 'meh' content, just for the sake of posting. I'm cutting back to 3 a week on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Another thing I want to try out is writing more in depth reviews to why I chose the video. So I'll shut up about this tumblr now and present you...
Eric Holley. By the time Road Fools 15 dropped enthusiasm for the Road Fools series were not as high as the early ones. I think it's mostly a combination of things. One being older cats who grew up in very limited media intake of early Props/Road Fools grumbling about how things aren't the same... oh... how something in life don't change... and the younger generation having more access to video content in general. There was more out than just Props/Road Fools and internet content was just beginning to take hold, but when this Road Fools dropped, it made waves on the internet.
Forums were talking about how Eric Holley shut down the infamous white rails. Back then and even now, Eric Holley was roughly unknown. His stint in BMX was brief and it definitely peaked at this one spot. People were just listing of the tricks that they remembered but even that didn't cover it all. It was probably just a lot to process for one rider in a 2 minute segment in just another Road Fools. You hear records like Wilt Chamberlain scoring 100 points in a single basketball game and it's something like that. I don't think there is a lot riders capable of achieving what Eric Holley did at the white rails in a whole career, let alone a single session.
