I really want to talk about what the ucm could actually do to someone. When Itachi murdered the clan, he didn’t just murder all of sasuke’s family, he likely also killed any sort of cultural identity. Think about it, how would you feel if you were the only one let of your culture or country. Just some little kid, and you are now the only one in the world who practices your culture, your way of life. You would feel pretty upset too wouldn’t you. And I feel bad wondering how Sasuke felt in that time between the end of the war when all the other uchiha were killed and when sarada was born. I, personally, would’ve felt very alone. The only one with your genes, your last name, your culture, your heritage? I don’t know if i would have been able to do it. Not to mention, being so young at the time they were all killed, you probably have forgotten a lot of it too if it wasn’t all written in a book somewhere. Someday, you’d start to feel guilty that you can’t remember much. Like their faces, voices, the food they cooked, the clothes they wore? But the biggest part is that the uchiha were very loving. The curse of hatred is constantly criticized throughout the series because the clan would be over whelmed with desire for revenge and justice when a family member was killed that they just wouldn’t stop. And apparently, this was a “bad thing”. if someone i loved deeply for was murdered i would not stop being angry either. Like, if someone killed one of my siblings i’d kill their killer first chance i got, and i’d still never be satisfied. When itachi killed the clan, sasuke was consumed by this “curse of hatred”. He lost all of that love in the clan that was so important. It’s kind of just like another thing in the uchiha culture, another thing taken from him. It was never just simply killing his family, Itachi literally took away being an uchiha.
