I genuinely can't believe when people say Sasuke was too edgy and mean. No. That boy should've been MUCH more mean and edgy. Him telling Sakura she's annoying is nothing, him calling Naruto an loser is also nothing. This boy had his whole clan, which means close AND extended family, killed in one night. By one person that he trusted the most. Already enough to be justified in literally anything you say. And then later on that same brother comes back and tortures you some more. And you end up in coma. You wake up, and your Sensei starts speaking some "revange isn't good" bullshit. Then later on in life, you find out that not only was massacre a government ordered genocide, but they also GROOMED your brother into doing it. And then used him as a scapegoat. So naturally you go and kill that guy who ordered genocide of your clan. You kill his ass, then your old teammates show up, chick that's saying she loves you tries to kill you. Your supposed best friend can't take a hint and leave you alone. Your Sensei is again taking bullshit about "going down the dark path".

And this is not mentioning all the other bullshit my boy had to go trough.

All of this combined, and it's unreasonable that he didn't have even more crash outs. After all this shit he should've been genuinely unhinged and high-key insane.

Marada & Izuna & the Uchiha Clan

The other day, I was remembering Sasuke and Itachi's battle, and how Itachi lied yet again to paint the Uchiha as villains.

He told Sasuke a false story about Marada and Izuna, which proves his undying hatred and resentment towards his people.

In Itachi's illusion, Izuna looks completely different from what Hashirama and Tobirama remember. Izuna is actually a copy of Sasuke (or, more accurately, Sasuke is a copy of Izuna). Both Hokage point out this. But Itachi didn't know this, which is why Izuna doesn't look as he should.

2. The lie that both brothers killed their friends to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan and take over as clan head. Madara and Izuna were the sons of the Uchiha clan head and have always held power. The brothers didn't kill their friends. The Uchiha wouldn't tolerate kinslayers leading the clan. It's a desecration of the bloodline and also a risk of betrayal. "Today he kills another. And tomorrow the entire clan" (really, Itachi? Are you judging by yourself?). I'm sure both brothers awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan after the death of their father, Tajima Uchiha. That's why Madara took over as clan head. I also considered the death of their mother, perhaps a mutual friend or close relative (a cousin, for example). But more likely, their father's death influenced the brothers and their awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan.

3. The lie that Madara forcibly took Izuna's eyes and the lie of Izuna's death. Itachi should have known how Madara's younger brother died. He was the clan heir, and he should have known the history. We know that after Shisui's death, Itachi was stripped of his right to inherit power, and Sasuke was to become the next clan head. But Sasuke was little and hadn't yet been told about Madara. Itachi deliberately glosses over the fact that Tobirama killed Izuna. He shifts this sin onto Madara's soul. Izuna willingly gave up his eyes before his death. He loved his clan and his brother and wanted to protect them.

4. The Uchiha didn't engage in fratricide. Only in the anime were we shown that the Uchiha killed each other for power, and it was exaggerated, like something out of a propaganda textbook and the Overton Window theory. Perhaps there were such criminals, but they exist in any nation. But this was only the exception. As Hashirama and Tobirama said, the Uchiha value family and love—they weren't kin-killers. If this were true, the Uchiha wouldn't have been so organized and wouldn't have survived as a clan.

5. Itachi said that all the Uchiha took their brothers' eyes to awaken the eternal MSH. But this is a lie. In that case, the Uchiha would have had the same slave-like segregation within the family as the Hyuga. Younger brothers would have been born and used as "spare parts." But that's not the case. This means no one forcibly stole eyes. The Uchiha loved each other and didn't wish suffering on their siblings or other relatives.

I think calling the Uchiha extermination a massacre and not a genocide is one of the biggest gaslightings in Naruto history.

Massacre was what happened during wars, in any major battle, be it Minato, Sasori, or even the Sanin. Now, the Uchiha extermination doesn't even come close.

People weren't being killed for being enemies on the battlefield; they were being murdered in the dead of night inside their own homes.

Anyone with Uchiha blood was doomed, whether it was a child who hadn't even gone to the academy or an elderly man who had never set foot on a battlefield.

Because it didn't matter if the individuals were part of the coup or not, whether they had an active Sharingan or not, whether they were civils or not. It was all about having Uchiha blood.

Because eventually, they might have the Sharingan and might, perhaps, develop the curse of hatred and rebel against the village again.

Even though as far as we know this curse doesn't affect everyone (after all there are several simple Uchihas, who hardly reached the third tomoe, who never came close to having a Mangekyou), even though the Uchihas only attempted a coup after almost 60 years of alliance and only because they were suffering more exclusion, even though many didn't even become ninjas.

This idea that the Uchiha were selfish and put their family above everything else is so obviously false based on the story, and a mere example of how of Konoha's leading class projected their faults on them.

In the warring era, some evil Uchiha abused a powerful jutsu to unfairly gain power, and what did the rest of the Uchiha do? Turn their backs and let them? No, they made a counterjutsu to confront them and put an end to the problem.

Madara had just lost his brother, was broken in pain. And what, did he go crazy so-called-curse-of-hatred mode? No, he gave up justice for the person he loved most in the world in exchange of peace, just because he believed Hashirama, his enemy, was offering a treaty in good faith.

Madara finds Hashirama is a shameless liar and tries to get the Uchiha to break the treaty, what do the Uchiha do? Follow him and resume war just because he is Uchiha? No, they explicitly discredit him and send him away.

Sasuke finds that Konoha murdered his whole family just because its leaders were power thirsty genocidal jerks, does he just go and automatically join Obito and Madara because they are Uchiha? No, he summons his enemies to hear their part of the story and ends up fighting against the two evil Uchiha to help save the village.

They are profiled and accused of acting on hatred and emotions, when over and over again we are shown evidence that they do what is fair. Even when they are targeted, mistrusted and treated like enemies.

You know who puts their own above the village, above peace, above justice and above whatever is needed? Freaking Konoha's leadership. Hashirama put his brother above everything, risking the treaty and Konoha, letting him do racist crap as he pleased. He put him above everyone's safety letting him develop the evil zombie army jutsu. Hiruzen put his student and friend above everything, turning a blind eye to their crimes. Naruto himself is putting his own interests and his predecessors above everything, never holding the advisors responsible for their crimes, sweeping everything under the rug.

All lies, all vicious slander to justify their crimes.

Isn't it interesting that Sarada awoke her Mangekyo "out of love" (even though that's true for all Uchiha that awakened it)? She broke the curse of hatred, guys! Isn't that great? She just happened to be completely isolated from the culture of her people, and assimilated in the "normal" majority of the village! Her dad doesn't even carry any Uchiha traditions or ideals anymore! His only purpose, at this point, seems to be to serve the village! Isn't it so interesting that she's an "good" shinobi, that she is loyal to Konoha, that she has acceptable aspirations like wanting to be Hokage (leader of the village that enforced the discrimination and genocide of her forefathers)? Isn't it so cool that she knows nothing about the history of her clan or the truth of how they were killed in the middle of the night, in the safety of their homes, by one of their own?

Isn't it so interesting that an Uchiha that "breaks the curse of hatred" is one that is stripped of their culture and loyal to the village?
