"Today has been a weird day. That's how I feel about it," Piper gave a small laugh. "Though they did get my coffee order wrong and then gave me the correct one for free. So if you want his coffee?"

"Today has been a weird day. That's how I feel about it," Piper gave a small laugh. "Though they did get my coffee order wrong and then gave me the correct one for free. So if you want his coffee?"
"You know right, sometimes I really love my job. I really love it. I do. I mean, of course there's times it is emotional, it's sad. It's a given." He let out a half laugh, half sigh. "Then there's times they just shit all over and it's so fun. I am just going to drink my beer and try not to think about the smell. That is my story of the day."
"Ok come here." She gestured the person towards her. "I need you to tell me the truth." Viv took a deep breath. "Do you think I need to start using an eye cream? I went over my mom's and she told me i'm at the age where I need to start using an eye cream."

Harriet hated gossip but worst of all she hated that she was so close to the centre of the gossip and she couldn’t tell anyone. No one knew she was mourning the man, that she felt grief and anger and sadness. And no one knew her biggest secret of all. Her son.
Lost in her own thoughts, her dark eyes stared out of the window. The warm mug held between her hands, she’d nearly forgotten where she was before a sound pulled her from her daze. “Hmmm, shit,” she said, quickly realising that the sound had been the crashing of her coffee cup hitting the floor. “I totally spaced there. I have no idea what happened.”

"I think I'm being paranoid that there's ghosts in my store. That or I am misplacing things. It's probably just me being forgetful." Alex gave a small laugh but he had to admit, he was feeling a little on edge. He seemed like the sort of guy to haunt you. He laughed out loud to himself. "Ignore me. Ignore me. How are you?"

Piper’s dark eyes glanced around the coffee shop. The town often gave her moments of deja vu. She remembered sitting here in her teens. Being back in Prose was still an odd feeling, not much had changed and yet... her father was gone. He wasn’t going to walk in with his judgemental comments and high opinions. That was a strange feeling too. She let out a sigh. It had been a long day of teaching old literature and an afternoon of marking papers. Some teenagers could write well... and some not so much. Though she spent a lot of time with them making comments about her surname. She was a Whitley. As she picked up her coffee, she sighed once more, realising the cup was empty. She looked to the person beside her. “How many is too many coffees in one day?”
Lip flopped on the bench, his eyes glanced up at the dark sky. It was cold out, the December air biting at his skin but he was glad for the air. “Hey,” he said, letting out a soft sigh as he leaned back. “I feel like I spend my entire life asking people what they want to drink and listening to their life stories that I just don’t want to hear about. But I do it all with a smile on my face,” he rambled, letting out a laugh, his breath visible in the cold. “The fresh air feels good though. Even nippy. It’s been a long night stuck in there. How’s yours been?” He paused. “Okay, now I am the one sharing my life story,” he said with another laugh.
“Do you want to hear something really dorky?” Elise let out a small laugh, leaning her elbows against the table. “This is my first year ever hosting Christmas dinner and I am both nervous and excited... and probably a little bit over thinking too.” She looked up at the other. “Any advice? Is Christmas dinner your thing?”
