I agree i have a lot of feelings about Doctor Who and it took me a whole season to be okay with Matt as the doctor, but he's still not MY doctor. When RTD wrote i felt a lot of classic who feelings with how Eccleston and Tennant were the doctor and I grew up on classic who mostly the 4th doctor on Sci Fi channel reruns in the early early days. and just yeah i mean i'm sad because regenerations are always heat wrenching but im excited for the 12th doctor but I'm more afraid of Moffat handling it

but, to be 100% honest?

i hope it does change, in the sense that it takes itself less seriously, not more seriously. it can still be serious! it can still be a commentary on the horrors of warfare and death!

in fact, i miss that stuff! because i miss 10’s compassion! sometimes i see the things 11 does, and i just think, 10 would never let that happen. and thats okay. he was a different character.

but i really liked that about 10. he was the perfect progression from 9, who was hard and cold and was learning to warm up and show empathy and restraint.  i was surprised that 11 is actually more callous. but i suppose even 10 was begining to loose himself near the end.

i feel like 10 had this beautiful message of something i would call preservation. its not peace. its learning what is important and protecting that first, but still taking time to appreciate the beauty in a gigantic wasp or a “monster”. i feel like, i have never seen another doctor appreciate things the way he did. he was like an artist. i respected that.

im not asking for a second tennant okay. but i dont mind that 11 is leaving either. he has finally reached the point where his companions have stopped questioning his values, and that’s never constructive for a lonely god. i think it’s his time.

i’ll still probably cry when he regenerates though. :’( i love matt. he is a truly talented man, and he did a great job handling the character he was given.

the fact that i have a personal preference for tennant is mostly due to the fact that he is a different character. im allowed to have a favorite. uvu

oh and on another note, while i like all the spaciness that has happened lately, i really like historic episodes, maybe even a little better than purely spacey ones. there’s more potential for tongue-and-cheek, self-deprecating humor, and teasing historic celebrities.

OH yes! Campion is simply fantastic!

He's like a combination between Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, and Tintin.

Frankly, i think he's adorable.

See, he comes off as being all clean and proper and upper-class, like the sort of chap who never goes on any adventures or does anything unexpected and lives on number four Privet Drive and is proud to say he's perfectly normal, thankyouverymuch, but then he gets excited, and then it's all rough and tumble from there.
