this is by far the most receipt-y anti-union material i've found there (in like 5 mins, i'm sure i could find worse) (but i mean DO I NEED TO).
How do you handle the child that CONSTANTLY finishes your sentences or blurts out incorrect directions and information while you are still talking? Mom says "she is free spirit and I encourage this." Child is always sending class off in wrong direction. And she is in everyone's business. I let her help others when she is finished and reward her good behaviors. She is driving me crazy!

possible answers / advice (from actual, literal, teaching kids in a classroom everyday teachers):
I finally proclaimed myself "Queen of the class" and put a crown hat on my desk. When she started talking I pointed to the crown, occasionally I even put it on when she wouldn't stop.
and
I stop talking......look at them for 30 seconds (that's a long time when you are just looking) and the whole class gets quiet and then looks at them. I then issue their 'warning" or mark, name on the board, etc. whatever is your classroom management.
AND
I once sent a child to the office to ask for her paycheck.
(principal was very familiar with this child and her PITA parents.) When she returned without a paycheck I said, "Well that settles it. I'm the only one getting paid to teach here." I don't remember if it solved the problem, but it sure felt good!
AND
Ideas:
I say firmly--I'm talking; YOU LISTEN!
Another famous "canteach quote" said totally deadpan is-- Please point to the teacher...Thank you. Just checking.
and
I say, "I am the one who is teaching and speaking right now. They pay me the big bucks to do this. I do not want to share my money, so please let me do my job!"
there is actually 1. no one who replied to this with any sort of shock / dismay (although it is in the "Vent" threads and when anyone calls anyone out they are basically like BUT THIS IS THE VENT BOARD, YOU CAN'T TELL ME I'M A BAD TEACHER / PERSON HERE GO AWAY") and 2. someone who said "wow, great advice, I have finally found another use for my tiara. well, at least some good came of this, i guess.
