Just a little personal post... I'm in school for my elementary teaching degree and like most future teachers, I like to imagine what my classroom would look like. My emoji-themed classroom is coming along nicely! Found these shower caddies and emoji cups at the dollar store. They're going to be filled with markers, pencils, pens, stickers, scissors, and so much more. These portable "creation stations" will be available to each group of students whenever needed.

Classroom Decorating Ideas
As the school year continues and district budgets dwindle, the nuances of a good education truly become a community-wide responsibility. Parents, teachers, and student supporters can help by supplying bright ideas to help local schools produce aesthetic, engaging classrooms for less.
Just wanted to share some photos of my classroom. I'm especially proud of the Nick Fury poster behind my desk with his arms folded. I do that same pose whenever my kids are taking a test and I'm staring at them whispering to each other....
i think I need to add some speech bubbles on my poser and captions, like Nick saying "I'm the authority around here" or Wolverine saying "don't even think about it, bub" so my kids know not to go into that cabinet. I love the idea of a caption by the black panther, luke cage, and black falcon poster and Misty Knight and Colleen Wing stating "Highly Educated...and extremely deadly"
Since putting up the new posters, a couple of kids wander into my classroom during lunch and act like it's an art gallery. Quite a few yell at me about the black spiderman being a fake poster - then I have to tell them that Mr Morales is the new Ultimate Spiderman, but they don't believe me. lol!
I am doing a western theme this year. My bulletin board will say: "Wanted, A Great Group of Kids" Reward, A Year of Learning and Fun." I have wanted posters that I will put their picture on. I'm using bandana fabric I bought at Wal-Mart as the background and using rope as the border. Good luck with your theme. This is a fun theme to work with.

Celebrating Students
I love giving my students an opportunity to share about themselves. It is important aspect of community building in my classroom. One way I do this is by having a "star of the week". This gives each student a chance to have a week dedicated to learning about and celebrating them. In sticking with my superhero theme, I am renaming "star of the week". This year, it will be called "super student of the week". One of the special privileges the super student will receive is the opportunity to wear our special class cape.
I bought this cape through Amazon (although it is an oriental trading product). While it isn't necessarily the best quality, it will certainly do the trick. I made the graphic on the computer and then printed it on an iron-on paper.
