Don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad for protecting your soul. If you don’t FULLY trust someone, you dishonor yourself by giving them access to everything in your inner sanctum. That is sacred ground, a privilege reserved only for those you feel can be trusted with your magic.

To my darling witchlings;
This is something i have experienced for years as both a lowkey and out of the broom closet witch amd would like to let you know that your confusing situations are not an isolated incedent.
Typically, as soon as you accept a spiritual identity (and it really doesn't have to do with witchcraft) you'll notice mentors, gurus, and other "divine" practitioners suddenly appearing from the wood work. All though i thoroughly enjoy the abundance of knowledge that comes from like minded and/or open minded individuals allow me to express some red flags that certain toxic enlightened individuals may express.
Even though some spiritual people sometimes have a wise (perhaps knowitall) air about them and you can learn from individuals that practice strange or taboo rites, be careful.
There are many charlatans, sooth sayers, bots, and self promoters that have only their self serving agenda in mind.
Im not saying ignore those people, i say listen to what they say taking a grain of cat litter with every phrase or lesson.
Some of these people might, with out previous interaction, arbitrarily message you one evening telling you that you are chosen and "deemed" worthy.
Look, your practice is valid and worthy without some guru blessing off on your studies. You dont *need* to be deemed worthy by a group or what have you to have a connection with your higher-self or deities.
Also, remember internet safety and protect yourself from digital flounderers as much as you ward yourself from evil spirits. Keep personal information to a minimum, dont give out bank numbers or credit information, avoid sharing residential addresses. The digital word has an equivalency to spiritual realms today. The internet, as far it has been recorded, is a plethora of knowledge and communication not seen in history. It can only be understood as another world with its own culture.
Like the spirit world, bad things lurk behind every corner trying to take advantage of your new found perspective. You don't have to buy or plead for your spirituality. Dont believe an entity or holyman that says you do.
Protect your mind and spirit by having a healthy level of skepticism with every new person or piece of information (including stuff from my blog), practice safe web browsing, and dont feed the trolls. (You dont owe your spiritual covenant to anyone swimming around in the digital ocean nor do you owe anyone a fight).
Stay safe and stay wise. Not every guru, teacher, oracle, prophet, or peer, has your best interest in mind.
Safe Passages darlings,
AethyrSecretary 🌙
