The Quest For Knowledge (2)
{Continuation of This Thread}
Your nuzzling gets a purr from her. Warmth runs across her body and that scent gets a little stronger, you find your shoulders slack and your breathing slow. It helped that even shallow breaths felt heady with her oxygen.
"Ohh don't worry, this isn't about studying some old passage, Raixa." Her nipples are stiff as she pulls away and opens the book to a part early on. "It's about putting a sudden bout of inspiration to the test." She spoke with an energy she hadn't before. She showed interest before, sure, but it is as if the generator had kicked to life, smog sputtering with the potential to light up a city. She was absolutely giddy.
The pages you could see were both.. incomplete would imply that the author didn't finish the book. Instead words and phrases were missing from patchwork passages and the absence of paragraphs spoke volumes. Either someone managed to censor an enchanted book.. or the words were there, hidden from view. Hidden from you. "Witchling.." The warden pulled a thorn from some flower in her hair. She angled it and pricked her own palm until a fluid spilled, a mixture of muted fuchsia. She had her palm up so it wouldn't spill onto the page just yet.. "Bleed with me- see what we can find in the bond of the covenant."

A piece of advice I received a long time ago that I took for granted:
History books > Witchcraft books
Recently I've gotten into witchcraft + occultism history, and it is truly what has given me the best information about my craft yet. It is so fulfilling and informative to pick up a book on the history of occultism. Not only do you learn about your craft, but you learn its roots, too. which I believe to be one of the most important parts. Always ask WHY when you're about to do something. Always know your history.
Witchcraft books are perfectly fine and in no way, shape or form am I against them; I just find that history books on occultism, symbolism, mythology, and all that are just SOOO much more informative than anything a "witchcraft basics" book could ever give you.
Find an author you like, maybe a specific time period or location in the world, or even a historical figure you like. and get READING.
Knowledge is power. Even in your craft.

Why I Don’t Use the Term “Baby Witch” 🌙🕯️
One of the most common phrases you’ll see online is “baby witch.” It’s used to describe beginners, but let’s be real the term is infantilizing and does more harm than good.
❌ Why “Baby Witch” is a Problem
It makes serious practitioners feel like they aren’t taken seriously.
It reinforces gatekeeping by keeping beginners “below” others.
It suggests that you’re fragile, naive, or incapable just because you’re starting out.
It can be used as an excuse for others to talk down to you or dismiss your experiences.
🌱 A Better Way to Frame It
Everyone begins somewhere, but being new doesn’t make you a child. You’re still a witch, a practitioner, and a seeker of knowledge. A beginner, an apprentice, a novice, these are words that respect where you are without stripping away your dignity.
🔥 The Truth
Calling yourself a witch, no matter how long you’ve practiced, is valid. You don’t need to earn permission. You don’t need someone else’s approval. You are not “baby” anything. You are a witch. Period.
✨ If you’re new to the craft and tired of being talked down to, I’ve created guides, posts, and resources that respect your journey. You can find more through my Ko-fi because you deserve tools that empower, not infantilize.
Energy charging
Don’t forget to charge your crystals and cards tonight, don’t want negative energies surrounding you
When I don't ask my runes any specific question they tell me things like, "The breath of God and the primordial water nourish the seed of human creation." When I do the same with my tarot cards they say shit like, "Wash the dishes, whore. One day your parents will die."
