I am writing to bring attention to the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and the urgent need for increased aid. According to reports by Andrew Bourne and Brandon Dunn, the island is facing physical devastation and a critical lack of food and water.While the storm was tracked as a Category 5 hurricane, media coverage significantly decreased after it made landfall. Having lived in Jamaica with my family, I have been following the situation closely through live webcams and video broadcasts. The Jamaican police have issued heartbreaking pleas for basic necessities, yet the current response—including the deployment of only 35 troops—is insufficient.When disaster relief is provided, it must be relevant and effective. For a population that has lost its primary resources, the priority should be delivering essential supplies and establishing evacuation routes for those lacking food and water. Much more could be done to support the island during this crisis.

One warm Saturday night, 73 people were arrested in downtown Los Angeles! They were arrested for Police Brutality, after being tear gassed. This happened after they tried to enter the Federal Jail. Mayor Bass said " its important to have a peaceful protest." The people were sent to jail after the No King's protest against the Trump administration. It is controversial because of the Immigration tactics. On the other hand, do the arrsteees have a defense of self defense of others? As a result of the apparently illegal ICE actions. According to California Law you can defend someone. Many people at the protest have family members in the Federal Jail. In conclusion, there is friction between the police, and protesters, who are trying to keep order. They will be tried at the Federal court downtown instead of at Criminal Court. Lets see how the Judge rules because protesters are trying to assist people who appear inhumanly treated by others.

Support students arrested after Anti-Trump protest

Support Zora Seboulisa and Carlos Ayala in fundraising for bail and legal fees! Zora and Carlos are artists and community leaders who were arrested during last Monday's student protests. They need our support now!

hey guys, so my friend Zora has go to court tomorrow and we’re trying to raise bail for her and the other highschool student who was arrested at the protest two weeks ago - donating or rebloging would be a huge help

Edit: So a few people have told me to talk a bit more about what happened.

So this happened on the 14th, the Seattle School District students had a walk out and were trying to march to seattle center. 

The police started blocking the protesters off on all sides around the downtown area but things didn’t get violent until Zora ended up a little off the main group and was tackled by an officer on a bike.

There are multiple witnesses who have reported that Zora did not instigate the attack, and that she didn’t try to fight back. Carlos,the other highschool student, was close by and also tackled. Carlos was pepper sprayed and then slammed into the concrete and got his throat stamped on. Anyone who tried to help the two were also pepper sprayed.

Zora and Carlos were then arrested, Carlos says that the officers told him to stop crying, suggesting that the pain from being pepper sprayed wasn’t that bad. 

At the station Zora was asked what medication she was on and when she listed Estrogen she was asked what it was for. She told them that she’s trans. After learning this she was placed in a cell in solitary, something that happened to nether of the other people who were arrested at the protest. She was also informed that the reason chains were used at her first court date was because of the estrogen. 

I don’t know as much about Carlos’ case but I do know that Zora is being charged with assault of an officer, which is a felony charge. She was originally released without bail but apparently the case was taken to a higher court and she will most likely be arrested again after her court date tomorrow at 8:30. 

The new bail being set at 10,000$, which is something her mom and friends are scrambling to help pay and what I’m asking help for today.
