Hey, anyone going to the hands off protests tomorrow. Love y'all, be safe remember good protest practices. Wear real shoes, preferably boots, and jeans. Wear sunblock. Write your important contact numbers on your body. If stopped by police, you may have to give your name and address and date of birth dependent on laws in your location, then ask politely if you are being detained or if you are free to go and if free, walk away slowly and if not ask why you are being detained and then say "I want to speak to a lawyer" and then shut the fuck up. If you are protesting on federal or state property the laws may be different in those locations, check.
Don't sign things. Don't take your phone unless you can lock it with a code not face or fingerprint recognition or use a burner phone. Don't take pictures of people without their permission. If someone goads you to get violent, they're a cop trying to get you in trouble. Have a check in buddy for after, so someone is looking for you as soon as possible.
(note, i edited this after someone i trust who has a lot more protest experience than i do and reasons to know said most of us are more likely to need a phone to document incidents or call for help)
