Today’s Goddess is Libertas. I’ve given her appearance twist today - the hat she is wearing is pointed. It is a hat called a pilleus, which harkens back to Libertas’ Roman origins. When a Roman slave was freed, they were given this conical hat to wear to show their new status. They were also given laurel leaves to wear. She also holds her more well-known lamp aloft, as well as a rainbow, showing her support of All people of all gender and sexual persuasions, and in protection of the current protesters. Image: a woman dressed in stars and stripes, with a green conical hat and crown of laurel leaves. Her arms are outstretched, a rainbow between them. She also holds a lamp aloft. She is surrounded with protest signs bearing Black Lives Matter slogans. #blacklivesmatter #protestart #protestartist #goddess #goddessart #goddessartist #artduringlockdown #artduringquarantine #artistsoninstagram #artduringcovid19 #artofprotest https://www.instagram.com/p/CBEbA8BnyA_/?igshid=bxr9ngkl9tz6
