New Cotton Proud Stripes Thigh Highs!

A lot of you asked for an Aromantic colorway of our Proud Stripes, and with the cotton line (and the more colors we have available in those yarns), we were able to make it a reality! Right now we just have these in thigh highs, but we’re expecting crews soon...and we have some other exciting Proud Stripes news we hope to be able to officially announce soon...

Finally! Dreamer Long Proud Stripes Tube Socks

I’ll be doing a full Pride round-up soon, but I couldn’t sit on these any longer.

We know a lot of you have been asking for more options in our Proud Stripes, and we are so excited to finally announce these long tube socks. Made in the seven colorways the acrylic OTKs and Crew Socks currently come in, these socks have extra length to make them thigh high on many legs—but even more exciting, they are made with a tube-style foot instead of a formed heel, so they should work just as well on big, little, and in-between feet.

At the moment we only have this style available in the acrylic Proud Stripes, not the cottons, but we hope to add them in the future as well! In the meantime, you can get the Lesbian stripes in thigh highs and crews, and Aromantic in thigh highs (with more options to come).

As with all our Proud Stripes, some proceeds from the sale of these socks will go towards LGBTQIA+ focused organizations—in this case OutRight Action International.

These beauties are about 34 inches from toes to tops, and stretch to 25 inches at the cuff and 21 inches mid-sock. Their tube-style foot will fit most shoe sizes.

Proud Stripes Crews (and more colors) are here!

We know a lot of you have been waiting very patiently for these, and we’re happy to announce that the crew version of our Proud Stripes are finally here! We’ve also added two new colorways, in both crews and over-the-knees.

As always, if you have any suggestions for other colorways for these, we’re all ears! Our mills are somewhat limited in the colors for acrylic yarn, but even if it’s not possible at the moment, we’re taking notes for later. We’re still brainstorming ways to handle the lesbian-pride flag, since we don’t have enough pinks to do the gradient version. Any ideas are welcome!

A Note on the Proud Stripes

Hey folks! We’ve seen the concerns about the inclusion of Red, White & Blue socks in the Dreamer Proud Stripes, and we want to let you know we’ve heard you and we’re listening. While originally our intention was to reclaim the US Flag as a symbol of pride and inclusion (for ALL Americans, no matter what), we understand that it muddled our LGBTQ+ Pride message—especially since we don’t currently have a Pride-specific rainbow (it’s coming soon, we ask for your patience!) or a Lesbian flag (more on that in a sec …).

It was not our intent to put American nationalism above all else, or to somehow imply that it was more deserving than the other identities. We’ve currently removed the Red, White & Blue stripes from the Dreamer Proud Stripes and made them their own product: Dreamer Freedom Stripes. We’re based in the USA, and in addition to our other identities, we’re proud to be Americans. Our flag gets thrown around by a lot of movements, and we’re tired of seeing it being associated with hate, racism, and fear. We want to reclaim that flag for all who live in the USA; it’s meant to represent freedom for all, and we can make it represent that again.

We’re limited in our acrylic yarn colors, which is why we haven’t done the lesbian flag yet and why our genderqueer socks have dark purple instead of lavender—we don’t currently have enough pinks to do the most popular pink gradient flag, and as there isn’t an official lesbian flag, we don’t want to go with something that may exclude parts of the community.

However, we are working with our mills to get a rainbow sock with the pink stripe added, to truly represent the original Pride flag. We’re also brainstorming with our team to come up with other possible colorways to add to this line, and we’d love to hear your suggestions (especially if you have a suggestion for lesbian stripes using only two shades of pink)! As we’ve said, we may not have the exact colors, but we can try to make things work.
