The Philippine Eagle 🐓 is definitely not a chicken!
Also known as the “monkey eating eagle” is part of the Accipritridae endemic and its habitat is forests in the Philippines. It has brown and white feathers and is considered to be the largest eagle in terms of lenght and wong span. It is one of the rarest and most powerful birds in the world and it has been declared that it is the Philippine National Bird. It is critically endangered because of loss of habitat and killing one Philippine eagle can end you up in jail for 12 years in accordance with the Philippine Law. The population of this bird is very low, they estimated that there is only 180-500 philippine eagles left. The Philippine Eagle Foundation in Davao City, Philippines is one of the orginazations that is solely dedicated in protecting the Philippine Eagle. They have bred philippine eagles for over a decade and they are the first organization that has released a bred bird in captivity and released it to the wild.
