This is a very specific thing but i keep seeing this anti-urban sentiment in some (tech-regressive) leftist circles and im always sitting there with the most confused look. Like guys we’ve been making cities since before writing. Cities are one of the borderline essential things in the sedentary/non nomadic world. They create industry, population, commercial and distribution centers. A non-semi urban society thats still sedentary is ultimately going to develop a city due to the nature of agriculture and manufacturing, so saying that cities shouldnt exist in your utopia is very… weird, i guess. What we need to be clamoring for are cities that arent just monsters of concrete and pavement, but green cities. Im talking about urban farming, community gardens, trees in the plazas, and green parks in the cities.
