The Idle Mind, Wasted on Entertainment
The Idle Mind, Wasted on Entertainment
"I wasn’t necessarily interested in the interpretation of dreams instead I found more interest in the idea that I was able to teach my subconscious with very little practice how to remember them every night"
I think the world has an abundance of interesting things to think about. The problem is as we get older our time gets taken up with other things that are more obligatory than choice and our boredom, if that kind of free time arises is taken up by entertainment which for the most part has no benefit to us. Maybe we watch a movie or engage in the trap that is social media but I feel like people are not taking part in free thinking, Grown adults act like children that must always be entertained.
When I was younger I enjoyed reading about anything different that wasn’t being taught in school, I enjoyed reading about spirituality and ancient cultures and dreams and stuff like that. Dreams were one subject that I was specifically interested in. I wasn’t necessarily interested in the
interpretation of dreams instead I found more interest in the idea that I was able to teach my subconscious with very little practice how to remember them every night. I won’t go into the many techniques that you can use to do this but I believe that most people can accomplish this pretty easily. I will however suggest if you interested in that kind of thing to simply to a Google or YouTube search with the keywords “Dream Recall” and you will find all of the information you could need.
What I eventually found to be even more interesting than “Dream Recall” was something I found called “Astral Projection” I was only 13 or 14 at the time that I first came across “Astral Projection” and the idea of it was something that intrigued me very much. The idea that you could go to sleep and will your soul outside of your body or at the very least maybe its just you controlling your dreams either way you look at it it’s a pretty cool thing. I learned a few different techniques that I tried pretty frequently with no luck for a long time. When I finally had my first experience with astral projection I wasn’t even trying to make it happen it just kind of did. It was a pretty interesting experience that I felt like I had little control over. I kept trying to make it happen again but most attempts led to temporary “Sleep Paralysis” at least that was the diagnosis I came up with after a little bit of “Googling that shit”
The years went by pretty fast since then but the interest in my dreams was something that never really went away, I frequently have pretty vivid dreams that are like horror movies for the most part, The kind of dreams that you are very happy to be awake from and you are left with the feeling of “Thank god that was just a dream” Honestly, I still kind of enjoy those dreams however gruesome or strange they may be.
I guess I went a little bit of topic from the opening paragraph of this article but that was just a little example of one of the things that could keep you from being bored I guess. There wasn’t exactly a point to this article so I’m not sure if I even really expressed one but it is what it is. Thank you for your time!
Much love & Respect!
