⯈ Regarding “I don’t know that character well enough to interact”.

   You don’t know near enough anything about anybody’s muse, canon or not. Every single character out there is different, even canon ones. One person’s canon can be different to another person’s own. X from this series? Yea, person 1 has a different way of RPing them to person 2. You don’t know their muse at all, albeit it being a canon one.

   So why bother saying “I don’t know about this muse”? Instead, how about interacting with them? Reading their about and using logic, interacting, or even do research such as a wikipedia page, of which you will obviously not use IC. Because that would be metagaming! Don’t forget. Your muse doesn’t know everything about X canon char anyway.

   OCs and canon chars are the same. Each canon character is an OC. Because everybody has a different interpretation of a character. So you know nothing about their muse except a very basic basis from the game or anime or whatever. 

   So follow that muse, read their about, and get RPing. You may find it fun in the end. 

   Don’t use the excuse “I don’t know this character well enough / at all” because, as said, each canon muse or OC is highly different to the next. You know nothing at the start until you learn via interaction or reading headcanons etc. 

    Don’t avoid interaction because in the end you may make a great friend or just have great fun via interactions. Learn to learn about characters you don’t know about. Use some realism and logic. Have some fun.

I can't read your damn mind if you don't like certain things, so when I message every now and then to ask if rp is fine or not...that's your damn time to voice your concerns if you're too scared to message on your own.

Don't give me or my muse crap in your shady ass replies.

If you don't want to rp, FUCKING SAY IT...those passive aggressive replies don't do anything but show what an asshole you can be!

⯈ “The muse should never be similar to the mun!”

     And all things related.

     Wrong.

     But also sort of right.

     Think of it like this: You can share aspects with your muse in a healthy manner. Then there’s sharing too much and becoming a threat to your own mental health by way of risking getting emotionally hurt by RP - Like your muse gets hurt, so you feel hurt. The former is fine, the latter is dangerous.

     To share aspects isn’t always a bad thing, so never jump to conclusions if someone says they share parts of themselves with their muse. In the long run, sharing things can really aid one’s own mental health. 

     Putting your mental health issues into a muse isn’t a bad thing. You can work through parts of your issues via your muse. For instance. you may not see how it (your issue) affects people until it comes into writing, or you may just be unaware of some aspects of yourself until someone notes it. Then there’s also RPing the issues and simply coming to understand it better in general as you do research on how you muse will react in that situation with said issue.

     In the end we no doubt all put something into them about ourselves, if we intend to or not. And that’s fine. There shouldn’t be a stigma against it.

     But also remember: Your muse isn’t there to cure you or to be your source of help. You also need to get help in real life if you require that. Don’t lean on your muse too much - That is bad. Moderation is key here. 

     So put that quirk into a muse! Or perhaps look back at how you replied to something as your muse. See if you can learn something about yourself.

When you state on your blog that you're multiship and want to ship in an rp, make an effort....don't make the other roleplayer feel like you're obligated or forced to rp.

If you don't want to rp or ship, say so, don't make it seem like your muse is better than theirs. In that case, don't rp with anyone but yourself.

PSA - Telling your partners about dropping threads  

I’m not sure, why exactly I’m making this post. I hardly ever dropped any threads. But, I just felt like someone should say something about it.

There’s a lot of roleplayers out there who has social anxiety. And when it comes to threads, when they don’t get a response for a bit of the time...they don’t really ask about it to the person with who they have said thread. Mostly because, they assume the other don’t want to roleplay with them.

I know, I know, I’m aware in most of this kind of situations, it’s not the case. Mostly it’s something like the muses completely wouldn’t fit or something like this, you name it..But, how really the first person can know it?

Simply. They don’t, until the second person who dropped the thread, let them know.

So, here’s the thing, mainly for those who really get the hang out of it, in case of roleplaying, and are quite confident about that what they’re doing:

If you’re want to drop the thread, because, you don’t feel it, or for whatever other reasonable thing: Tell your RP partners about it.(especially to the ones with who you didn’t had any other threads yet.) Explain that to them, I know, it might be hard for couple of people. But, it’s better than just leaving it without explanation.

You’re not only showing respect to other roleplayer, but, also some advantages might come with this behavior:

-Your partner will not stress themself about the thread.

-You might help them find confidence.

-You are developing trust with them, after a while. Which means they might be less stressed during the thread and other interactions with you.

-Your partners might spread this behavior, and do the same thing with their rp partners.

And that’s basically how it goes. I mean, I can’t make people to do it, but, I sincerely encourage you to do it. It might seem to be just a little pointless thing, but, this might be really rewarding. I mean, you won’t get any psychical reward, but, you got what I mean.
