My Blog is strictly Anti Generative AI
I use no Generative AI to write for me.
I use no Generative AI to create images for me.
I do not wish to write with people who actively use Generative AI.
If you write with me, you won't ever have to fear any AI being used to doing my replies for you. I will not feed your writing to ChatGPT and the like, and I would appreciate it if you don't feed my writing to any kind of Generative AI either. You do not have my consent to do so.
If I reblog AI images/text or use images for aesthetics/graphics that were originally generated without realizing, please let me know. Generative AI images have infiltrated Pinterest and other sites so much, it can be hard to tell sometimes.
Reblog to let your mutuals know. . .
that they are appreciated. that they are important. that they are amazing. that they are creative. that they are loved.
No matter how long you take to reply, what mood you are in, how insecure you are feeling about your writing, or how active you are — your presence is still very much enjoyed. You never have to apologize or feel bad for taking a while with a reply, or not answering an ask right away. Life can get busy, energy can fluctuate, interest can shift, and emotions can change. You are human and these things do not make you a bad person/partner.
We write together because it is fun and enjoyable, not because it is expected of you to answer every little thing at the snap of fingers.
PSA: THREAD REPLIES ARE NOW THEIR OWN POSTS.
For those unaware, tumblr staff has (probably been forced to by shareholders) updated so that each post is it's own post with it's own notes. Threads are still connected and can still be trimmed and reblogged, however each roleplay reply will have it's own set of notes (likes, reblogs, etc.). While it doesn't seem like the RPC will be affected compared to many of the other communities on tumblr, please be aware to check the notes of the previous thread reply to make sure you didn't miss anything, and use the drafting system to bookmark your WIP replies if you haven't already.
UPDATE: THEY ACTUALLY REVERTED IT. STAFF… REVERTED SOMETHING???
Reblog this post if you don't mind jumping around the timeline for different threads!
a friendly reminder: write your character the way you want to. don't stress about whether or not something is "canon accurate" or "in character" enough. everyone interprets media differently. cherrypick from canon, completely ignore canon if you want, use your own headcanons and experiences to shape your character, self insert, whatever. there is no "wrong" way to write your character.
psa because it's something i needed to hear myself as a writer:
you don't have to "prove" your character to anyone. the rpc isn't a courtroom and your readers aren't a jury. it's so easy to slip into the pitfall of defensive writing, trying to acquit your characters of tired tropes or safeguard them from being misinterpreted. "i swear she's still a strong female character though!" "it's okay, i promise she's demure and composed!"
you don't have to make your characters palatable.
you don't have to overcorrect or make them "appropriate", sanitized or declawed.
they're allowed to be nuanced, they're allowed to be messy, they're allowed to be multifaceted and wrong sometimes. they're allowed to not have everything fully formed.
you don't have to overwrite your character bios and leave nothing to the imagination, frying your brain at 3 am with "is this the way i want others to see my character?" "is this how my character would act in a room full of people?" "how do i want my peers to classify my character? STOP. breathe. it. doesn't. matter.
what matters is that you know your character, you're writing something beautiful because it's the story you want to tell and enjoy, and you have every right to do that without being so performative that you're being too hard on yourself.
you don't owe imaginary readers a perfectly polished version of what you think they're judging you for.
trust yourself as a writer to portray your character with justice.
trust the readers to see and pick up on the beautiful thing you're creating.
it's okay to keep things simple and let your character shine in actual rp. the ones who get it will get it, and sometimes that's enough.
PSA for ALL Trainers
please check your potions, paralyze heals, antidotes, etc. for their expiration dates. if you can't find the expiration, ask your local nurse joy.
using expired products could make you, your pokémon, and others sick. please make sure you are checking those things every time you buy one or use one. if you have a bunch of expired products, swing by my or any other pokécenter in galar. we have a promo rn where we'll trade your expired ones for fresh ones.
