today i learnt that it's okay to be a little slower than your friends, your acquaintances, or your family. everybody walks in different paces but it doesn't mean that you can't be more than any of them. or so.

(slight) Artist Note:
Can I just say that Martini's color palette is basically a bit of a killer on me? Because my goodness this is the first time I've seen this man getting too much GREEN on his clothes... Literally.
I've been trying to get his palette prepared (so I can start on him), but I'm overwhelmed by this man... Jesus, and to think Spicy Gluten's colors can be a strain on me. Like— why would someone just get so many shades on him in his clothes?? qwq I'd prefer coloring Tequila because his color palette is simple and straight to the point— which I got from his basic sprite. This man, however, is a different story. Oh boy.
I will continue on coloring him, don't worry! I'm just... So done with this man's color palette and having to remember which rows go which... Spare me, Martini. I'm not good with your extravagant clothes...
And yes, that is the sprite I got for Martini on Reddit... Well, another all-nighter is coming for me.
Happy Pride everyone!!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Today’s queue is filled with pride fanart! To see the art I already have on this blog you might want to check my pride tag ღゝ◡╹ )ノ♡
To my LGBT+ followers (and allies):
if you’re still in the closet please only come out when it’s safe to do so / you have a safety plan you can act on immediately. If you aren’t LGBT+ don’t ever out someone else. (I’m assuming you should know not to do that when you’re LGBT+ yourself)
ALWAYS practice safer sex and get tested regularly (that’s equally as important for my non LGBT+ followers!)
Speaking from my own experience: the way our orientation, compulsive heterosexuality, internalised homophobia/biphobia/transphobia, internalised misogyny, internalised shame regarding anything sexual, mental health issues and especially past traumatic experiences regarding partnerships/anyone overstepping our boundaries with physical/sexual closeness intersect is incredibly complex. It’s totally ok to need time to figure things out, it’s totally normal to change labels. Take time to heal. Don’t stress yourself over it and don’t force yourself into a label just for the sake of having one. Really, I can’t stress this enough: take your time, you’ll find out eventually.
Make an effort to connect and make friends with other LGBT+ people in real life. It absolutely does make a difference to have LGBT+ folks close to you.
Do not give T/erfs a platform. Block them, don’t reblog from them, don’t debate with them & their hate rhetoric. Educate yourselves so you can stand up and be good allies for our Trans & NB siblings, they all deserve nothing but love and support from us.
If you can and have the energy, please do what you can to help other LGBT+ people, especially those who live in countries/conditions where they are in danger. It’s painful to do so, but inform yourselves about the current international LGBT+ rights, or rather lack of them, spread the word, volunteer/donate/do activist work for organisations that try to help those. If you want to focus more on local issues/supporting local organisations that’s perfectly fine, and needed too. This also goes for our non LGBT+ allies.
Don’t be a silent bystander to racism, xenophobia, ableism, or other forms of hate, inside and outside of our community.
TL;DR: stay safe in all areas, respect your own boundaries and take your time. Don’t accept/be a silent bystander to hate. Do what you can to strengthen our community, and stand up for others.
Something important needs to be said about this Fandom.
There’s some of issues I’ve come to learn about with this fandom and some that I’d like to see come to a stop.
The biggest one I’ve seen: “Oh you’re copying X.”
Stop. Just, stop. Most of the time it’s anons seeing similar things done, one by a popular artist/writer/rper/etc. and a lesser known one. Regardless of which one came first, it’s always “You’re a copy cat”. Sure there might be some, but why is that everyone’s assumption when two things seem similar? It’s not a very healthy way to look at things in my opinion.
Another smaller issue I’ve heard of is my friend (@swoonflower) tries to produce content and get noticed as artists do. The only thing that seems to be noticed is wilson/willowson stuff. There’s so much more to her blog that just willowson and yet that’s the only thing that gets noticed. A lot of willowson blogs are the same general idea and it’s a bit over saturated. Other people wanting to do their own thing with different characters get utterly drowned in everything else and it suffocates new people trying to do whatever with other characters, oc or otherwise.
The last thing I’ll bring up applies to any fandom. Stop telling people to stop doing what they love or to kill themselves. That isn’t good for a fandom, it’s not good for either party, and more often than not the person who’s getting yelled at is completely innocent.
TL;DR: This fandom is messy.
I’m so tired of writing random shit. I would really want to write something that has actual plot and action. I don’t want anything specific - I could write any au/plot my partner would want, but dry conversations that lead nowhere bore me beyond belief. I think that goes for both blogs I have.
I’m not a fan of elaborate plotting where I need to discuss every single action to get the story I want, though. Or where the main goal is for the muses to get together and there’s little story to anything. It makes me feel limited. I like experimenting and provoking, therefore I much prefer establishing only the very basics for our muses - who they are to each other, what their intentions are to one another, where the action takes place. and that’s probably all, unless my partner decides they need more to work with or the idea is very specific.
SO!
If ANY OF MY MUTUALS is interested in writing some actual action with me, please give this post a like or go straight to my IM/askbox. Especially, if we never interacted before! <3
PSA: If you ever want to make an asks into a thread, i’m all for it! Actually i encourage it!
you ship bruce/harley??? :O
i mean … i don’t NOT ship it. :X it’s complicated, i guess?? i don’t ship it outright in all circumstances. because in most instances they’re kind of trying to kill/incarcerate each other and that doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies ( ha ha ha ). but i want to develop that relationship beyond the vigilante/sidekick realm. when i was watching btas i always felt like bruce cared for harley on some level. he wanted better for her, and he saw her as asset. not just ‘the joker’s girlfriend’. so yeah i want to explore more with them in different settings, different time periods. aus. something that gives them the chance to interact with one another that isn’t based around joker.
