I suffer from terrible and spiritually conflicting intrusive thoughts. They've become something like an enemy to me. My own thoughts! Wild, I know. OCD is what they call the doubters disease. They don't call it that for no reason. It's destructive when it's out of control. So, with my scary intrusive thoughts, I lay them out before God. I want God to know them all. To know that they are not my heart. Just a nasty infliction that goes after what I care for the most. It makes you doubt whatever it wants you to. There's no limit. Psalm 139:23 brings me comfort. Though the thoughts are treacherous, I know God knows my heart. Laying them out before Him relieves me so much. It truly does. It assures me that my heart is good and the intrusive thoughts are ONLY part of an illness called OCD. If you suffer with OCD, know that God understands and knows what's in your heart and God knows that it's just a brain miscommunicating with itself. Rest easy. Pray about it. Find comfort. Doubt less.
