#prayingthepsalms - God is my refuge and my fortress. Friends! I cannot remember a time when I have not run to God for refuge. Is it when I was attacked in school or when I was rejected by people at different stages of life? God has always had his arms open wide to accept me with my flaws and my insecurities. This reminds me of the story of the prodigal son too. though we often associate this story with a story of salvation, there's the element of the father providing a safety net for his returning rebellious son. The father wouldn't cast out the son. He couldn't bear to see his son living without a refuge. He accepted him with all of his flaws and made him secure in his refuge in e again. Speaking about God as a refuge. I remember something a bitter old individual once said to me. It was in an attempt to run down my faith in God thereby hurting me even more. They said to to me, you run to the church for protection all the time but you're not worth any of it. I was quite quick to remind them also that at least I had a place of refuge to run to, who or where was their refuge? Friends! God can be trusted as our refuge. He'll keep us safe and protect us in any situation, be it when we're faced with a danger or difficulty. So, please join me in praying this book of psalms.
