omg Gi I actually had a theory thing about Bill being Dipper cuz of something related to the portal plus something with Time Baby and I was gonna tell you that yesterday but I was sorta worried that it sounded dumb a;lskdjf

Omfg erika it’s like we share a mind! Haha I mean there’s a lot of holes to the theory cause like Bill is so complex and powerful and knows so much and time travel is tricky, but if that portal really is a magic circle like some people say, then absorbing that power might…turn you into something like Bill.

Remember in Gideon Rises, Gideon tells us that having all of the journals together is the key to unlocking ultimate power. That’s why the author hid all of them in different places all those years ago and that’s why Gideon wants them so badly. At the end of that episode, we watch Stan put the journals together and see the blue prints for the portal. He’s able to turn it on. That means the portal is the ultimate power.

The inner circle of the portal is surrounded by star symbols that look like constellations that are found on the traditional illuminati wheel. Dipper has a birthmark in the shape of a constellation on his forehead and it’s also placed in the center of his forehead, which is said to be where the Third Eye is located.

If Bill is future Dipper, then that would explain why Bill keeps such a close eye on him and does his best to isolate him from his family and make him more and more immersed in mystery solving. Bill wants to make sure Dipper falls and he exists.

Its all probably too deep and won’t mean anything in canon, but it makes for a fun au, like “What if, man? What if?” Besides, I think we’re pretty much all in agreement that Alex Hirsch is both like Dipper Pines and Bill Cipher anyway.
