People seriously need to stop equating fictive's pseudo memories with "shipping".

I don't "ship" myself with my partner. I dated him *in my life*. It's not a "headcanon" or a "pairing I like", it was my LIFE.

Fictives don't choose the pseudo memories we split with, they have to do with the collective trauma of the system and what our mental health needed at the time.

It's so annoying and frankly harmful towards fictives to treat us like we're just fictional characters. We're real people *based* on those characters. Treat us like the real people we are.

response/answering a question with a question to the anon asking about non-spiritual 'kin memories

i know noemata, coined by aestherians, has been thrown around in the psychological community. if i'm remembering the definition correctly, a noema is any inherent knowledge of your kintype?

they made a post after a bit clearing up that noemata aren't just non-spiritual 'kin mems, but they definitely made the term broad enough to cover psychkin mems without too much brain-frying introspection

i feel exo or pseudomemories fit my experiences better, but I've been hesitant to use them because I cant find anything about whether or not they're plural-exclusive.

if anyone can expand on this and/or confirm or deny the usability of "exomemories" for 'kin, i'd appreciate lots (:

I just found out I’m a system, and it kind of stresses me out because I don’t know what to believe. Some of us believe it’s all pseudomemories, something well documented with alters, but some of us believe in past lives, and regardless of that EVERYONE wants to find sourcemates, and some of us actually have our own kinlist which is a whole other slice of pie to deal with. But even ignoring the problems of the whole system, I miss my family so much. Not the system’s family, MY family. And if that’s all pseudomemories, then why do they have to come with so much longing? It’s not fair.

This is probably controversial but as a fictive I very much do firmly believe that I was, well, myself in a past life. I kin too, and all of them are spiritual. I don't call my memories pseudo memories and I don't plan on doing so, and I'm happy and functional this way

I know I am from something. I have to be. There is no good explanation for the secret police and the bathroom that had to be entered through a broom closet. Or the beast. Or the watcher. P.S: I know my name “The Doctor” seems odd, but it’s just what I have been called. I don’t remember my name. I do remember my kids though! My biological son Viktor and his boyfriend I took in named Jayce! I taught Viktor how to control the ice bending powers he possessed, and most of us lovingly called him “snowflake”. I remember there was this like countdown, and it would tell you how many nights you have left I think? And there was something you could do to extend your time but I forget exactly what it was! If anyone knows where I am from, or remembers me or my kids please tell me! I am very confused and quite upset!

@ the person asking about third person memories - i get them and i trust them, as part of a system i sometimes get this-life memories in third person if im not fronting or if they were really early memories so i dont see any reason why you wouldnt be able to have a similar phenomenon happen to kinmems

I don’t have pseudomemories, I have memories, I came here from somewhere else to help this body. I have my own back home. My memories are real.
