when i was younger, we used to have these odd red headed caterpillars going around. I was afraid of picking them up but i admired them, i once thought they would turn into butterflies. So last night i decided to do my lil research to find out what they were

found out these little dudes turn into moths but after such a long time and after the hurricane maria incident, we never saw them since.. I hope i get to find one again.

Pseudosphinx tetrio female. This specimen is one I reared from a 5th instar caterpillar I found in Puerto Rico. The common names of this large Sphigid vary from the Tetrio Sphinx, to the Frangipani hornworm. These f*c*i*n*g caterpillars chomp down all 3 plumerias 😥 and im like ok, fine they will b butterflies soon and good for pollination BUT NOO 🙅 they're moths...
