technically, the newest page could have just been a gif, but i preferred the idea of letting readers view the light-speed lines for as long as they wanted

i also didn't know that, in AS2 at least, you could export gifs with movie clips and it would just. work kinda?

there's some very obvious visual glitches due to actionscript not running (gif exports in flash ignore any and all AS) but the fact that movie clips play at all is insane to me. i love working in animate 2020 for 6 months until i get fed up with it because it's ANIMATE UGHH

something to note: i figured out how to optimize bitmap animations a little, but redraw regions wouldn't show up in swivel's recordings. so um. you're gonna have to wait for me to post the swf on thepersonever to really see what i did... and then wait a bit longer for me to write a full blogpost about it

the entire crux of this is that broken apart bitmaps still update when u update the library bitmap. also um you won't need to do any of the shit i do if you use photoshop since you can actually save psds correctly and then shove them into flash
