Dear person reading this,
Gee, how do I start this off? I guess I'll begin by saying that there are not only two kinds of people in this world, nor are there three, nor fifty. The human being is so complex that we scramble to find some sort of normality, some common trait. After all, we yearn to comprehend what we cannot.
With the institution of morality and the want to follow and lead, there comes the establishment of dogma. Examples include constitutions, religious beliefs, and societal expectations. So what if an individual doesn't conform?
They are often cast out based on things like appearance, personality and interests, sexuality, gender, etcetera. Persecuted, even. That is most definitely not right, and ridiculous to an extent.
I write this assuming that you, dear individual, have been the victim of this prejudice.
Now to the point, these are some things that may or may not be helpful for you to remember.
1. There are going to be some moments when you're on top of the world and some when you're down in Mariana's Trench. It's not a contest of who can spend the least time in the trench. It's hard to acknowledge this, but there are some cases when we are stuck in this endless cycle and it feels like it actually doesn't get better. Please, please know that even if things don't become easier, there is a good chance that they can still become more manageable. The load isn't lessened, but we are still able to become stronger despite it.
2. Don't be afraid to be reasonably stubborn.
3. Sometimes we can't help but to care about the people that hurt us. That is a mark of strength, not foolishness. Feelings aren't really the most reasonable things ever.
4. It's alright to run on 70%. It's okay to get out of bed with the goal of getting back in at the end of the day, until you finally wake up looking forward to something even better.
5. That said, there's nothing wrong with the little things. If you can't get through the day for yourself, then get through it so that you can be one day closer to being able to watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in theaters.
6. It's okay if people don't get you. It's okay if you don't get you. Life is full of wondrous mysteries, and you are one of them.
7. I'm right here. I may not know you all that well, but I care. Strange, isn't it? But people believe all sorts of things. Some people believe in aliens. Some people believe in God. To each their own, of course, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. So. Is it really all that hard to believe that I care?
Use these things as you wish to. We have the capacity to do good and evil, but regardless, no one deserves to be bullied. Never be afraid to seek help, and please take care of yourself the best you can.
