@portlandstuck Hey guys! Today I'll be bringing a mid-sized dog named Diablo with me. He's very nice and quiet and will only be there for a few hours, although he is likely to beg for food ^^' here are some pics for you to get an idea!

END OF HOMESTUCK SPECIAL PORTLANDSTUCK MEETUP
THE END IS COMING. YET A NEW BEGINNING WILL RISE FROM ITS ASHES.
TL;DR - APRIL 9TH AT DIRECTOR PARK AT NOON WILL BE A ONE-TIME OLD-SCHOOL HUGE HOMESTUCK MEETUP IN CELEBRATION OF THE END OF THE COMIC. FOOD, COSPLAY, AND EVERYONE (OLD MEMBERS, CURRENT MEMBER, PEOPLE WHO’VE NEVER BEEN TO PORTLANDSTUCK) IS ALLOWED, DRAMA ISN’T.
Hokay, so it’s been awhile since there’s been a “real” Portlandstuck meetup. In fact, the last one was precisely about 2-3 months after whenever your first meetup was. And everything afterward was a slow inexorable decline into entropy.
Some of us left as soon as the winds shifted. Some of us desperately tried to cling and recreate a singular moment in time. Some simply let it fade from their lives. And some of us tried a full-scale revolution culminating in a 15-minute long speech complete with a flag made out of old pants delivered to a very confused group of 15 year olds.
And we did not all leave the local fandom, or even the overarching fandom itself with the best taste in our mouths. We’re young, intensely passionate, and shit happened. But the time of Homestuck is waning, and soon, like the Harry Potter fandom, it will contract entirely, becoming a “mothership” fandom that people will remember fondly. Just as you cannot recreate the summer of 2007, you cannot recreate the fall of 2011. But unlike that fandom, at least locally, the Homestuck fandom waned long before the actual completion of the series. The fever pitch of the Cascade days cannot be recreated, but the impending conclusion of one of the most interesting, involved, and unique pieces of fiction ever written deserves a true send-off.
And so, it falls upon the shoulders of the greatest and most mysterious of the Portlandstuck Admins to resurrect the sleeping giant that is the Portland-area Homestuck fandom. This is not an attempt to recapture the past, to begin anew. Nay, it is a chance to celebrate that past, to come together once again, one last time, in one huge group, laughing, eating, and avoiding awkward glances and icy stares. Sound fun? Here’s the deets:
DATE: Saturday, April 9th TIME: Noon, until people get bored or hungry or the adults go to a bar LOCATION: The one and only Director Park. We may end up moving to the usual Park Blocks spot for a bit for nostalgia’s sake, but we rollin’ old school for this one. ATTIRE: Cosplay is of course encouraged (seal your makeup), but in no way mandatory (seal your makeup). There is no theme (seal your makeup), just wear whatever you’re most proud of (Seal is playing Pontius Pilate in a tv-musical about Jesus’ death and that’s really weird yo) or whatever makes you happiest (seal your makeup)! Oh, and please seal your makeup (seal your makeup). COST/FOOD: We gonna do this old-school potluck style, and no, no one will be inspecting your food for Double Flu (jokes!). You can bring homemade or store-bought, and you can expect Will to bring a Safeway rotisserie chicken. If he doesn’t, you can just cook him instead. Also, there is of course no cost, but feel free to bring me any cool or unusual coins you find. Or religious vhs tapes. WHO’S INVITED: Everyone. This means past members, newer members, or even people who’ve never attended a Portlandstuck meetup before! No one is banned or excluded from coming, and all are welcome. Now, this does mean that there might be people there you no longer wish to associate with. That’s fine. The goal is to have a huge group one more time, like it was back in 2012, large enough that people can stay away from those they don’t like while still participating in the group as a whole. However, anyone exhibiting dangerous or unsafe behavior will be of course asked to leave, and authorities will be called if they do not comply. Of course, please do not put yourself in a situation that could be triggering or harmful to yourself, but hopefully replies and reblogs to this post will act as a roll call of sorts so you can gauge who will and won’t be attending. OTHER SHIT: Yo, just be cool, okay? Please try and refrain from starting anything with anyone over old pstuck drama. Let’s just get together, chat about Homestuck, chat about the good old times, eat some food, drink some Faygo, and inevitable forget about Homestuck and talk about, like, Steven Universe and Undertale and whatever it is you crazy kids are into these days. Oh, and Tarina’s putting together a barstuck thing for the 21+’s afterwards. It’s on facebook somewhere.
If any body has ideas on a dry location for tomorrow instead of south park blocks please message or text me! It'd going to be raining off and on and that just isn't going to work with a bunch of cosplayers
