It’s interesting to me that each of my self inserts’ core personality traits show what I need to discard

Delphine doesn’t care—or at least she convinces herself that she doesn’t care—about things that emotionally influence her, because she has this mentality of this too shall pass and having an emotional response to it only wastes her energy. Because of this she struggles to understand Tom and sometimes hurts him without knowing.

Iris avoids getting close to others because she believes it’s inevitable that this will be just a fleeting moment in her life, therefore fake & useless. She learned that everything and everyone around her(relatives, close family, friends, etc.) is easy to be tainted and can change for the worse, and as much as she wants to form genuine, wholesome relationships, she’s too good at giving up. Also she doesn’t want to be let down for the hundredth time. This makes it difficult for her to be close friends with Idia(especially since he has sort of a similar mindset to this)or all the other students.

Chandelle is constantly tired(both mentally and physically) and melting yet she burns herself every night to get things done. Her social life is nonexistent(aside from the bees providing her wax) because she spends her entire time and energy on her work, which is the biggest reason Marceline broke up with her. Results directly make an impact on her mood; if she did well that’s what makes her day whether or not she’s used most of her wax, and that leads to having to rest for days which makes her upset and tries harder.
