Greetings, thrillseekers.

We’re back once again for the penultimate edition of The Precipice (until further notice) with my old friend and ally, and former Brap FM denizen, Quextal. Both of us are in the downtempo/psy-dub zone, this time.

Ben is one of my primary musical influences as well as having been one of my closest friends since we met in a field in 2009. (It’s also largely his fault I’ve grown to love progressive psytrance). In an artistic sense, I strongly recommend just about everything he’s done.

He describes his work as follows:

Quextal has been DJing since 1993, but he only got serious about it in 2007 when he discovered psybreaks and decided to become an evangelist for this new emerging genre. While most famous for his enthusiastic advocacy of psychedelic breakbeats, his musical passions extend to all genres of mind-expanding and evolving trip-music: he plays techno, breaks, progressive trance, glitch-crunk, tech-house, psytrance, drum’n’bass, and more… and specialises in “interstitial” sets of many genres woven together into a single epic journey.

I’m afraid there is very little talking on this show, as due to technical issues my end, I had to pre-record this episode, as I will with the final one, and frankly it feels a bit weird now, having been doing it live for most of the past year.
