7 seven - PSYCHO SCREAM
CMCD-105
1998
It's not as though it was terribly difficult to find the shuttle. The Harold could find anymech easily enough if he cared enough to. That did not mean that he had the gumption to actually approach.
It was some dump of a bar on a little moon of no consequence besides passing travelers. The shuttle was hunched over his drink, absorbed in his own thoughts from the looks of him. Starscream sat looking at him from the far corner, optics glowing morosely the more he looked. He was starting to wish he hadn't come. He glared hatefully at the table in front of him, mouth twisting and pursing, digits scratching against the surface anxiously.
This had been a terrible idea. He stood up, jostling the table violently as he did, pushing mechs out of his way as he headed for the door. He swiped at his face when, to his astonishment, his optics started leaking. There wasn't any point. There just wasn't any damn point.
The Herald stroked Starscream's helm gently, quieting his whimpers and sobs as he probed through his processor, clicking in disapproval at the number of deleted coding strands.
"Not his best work, surely...Unicron is none too fond of you, I'm afraid..." He stroked the other's dark cheek, running his knuckled down the side of his helm vents. "You have been feeling awfully sorry for yourself to do something so stupid."
Star's optics blinked in confusion.
"Hmm? You don't think so?" He chuckled, restoring bits and pieces the broken code still lingering in his processor, "You and I are the same, you forget. You are a terribly selfish creature, you know. Risking dying for this idiocy? What about Skyfire? Where would that leave him?" He gave a harsh squeeze to his chin, "Not one of us deserves him. Certainly not you or I. How you are not on your knees praising him or begging his forgiveness for not being good enough for him every spare moment you have is beyond me."
Bit by bit, every last strand of corrupted coding was restored. The Herald smirked and patted his alternate's cheek, "No more poking around in your own head. If you are suffering, than you must relish that you continue to sustain the capacity to suffer. If you are grieving for your inability to give life, then you must continue to grieve. Quietly. You cannot expect to be happy. It is not something you deserve. You must relish that fate smiled on you between the two of us. That the universe gave him to you, and gave you more happiness than you could have ever deserved."
Starscream shuddered, his optics glowing dimly, "...Why shouldn't we deserve to be happy?"
"...It's just the way things are."
"Is that what you've amounted to?" he murmured, "Giving up on trying to earn more for yourself?"
"There is nothing more for me to have," he answered, "I have nothing at all. I will never have anything ever again."
"I don't believe that. You should do as Sky suggested. You should find your Skyfire."
He did not answer.
Estella held tighter to Starscream's servo as the other strange seeker approached. So like her creator, but...emanating something dark and immensely powerful. No EM field, either. Her optics flickered in apprehension.
The seeker gave a blank smile, "He's sick. I'm here to help. I promise."
"You have not the power to heal. Only the power to harm. I can see the dark in you..."
The smile slipped away, "...I can remember a little of life. Enough to know how to fix this. My master did this. I can fix it."
Estella shook her head, "I have no reason to believe you. He is my creator, and I will not let you take him."
The seeker sighed, reaching for her and scooping her into his palm, "I understand. It has no bearing on my decision, but I see why you feel that way." He hovered and placed her on a tree branch before leaning down and lifting the Princess into his arms.
Come on, alternate...
I'm waiting for you, darling~
Come and show me what for...
Come and take him back...
Or don't and let me keep him
It's your choice~
One Must Have a Mind of Winter
I can only have a mind of winter, if I can begin to think about you. When I haven't any love left to give, and my body is ruined, and my mind destroyed, how else could I hope to think of you?
How can one think of their love, when one hasn't any thoughts?
With the sparse husk of metal that remains, how can I spend it? It's not worth a thing. Not really. It's so cold...
Oh, Skyfire, it's so cold....
Is that the only way I can feel you anymore?
Through that consuming cold, eating at my empty insides, knowing you must have felt the same in that last moment...
You must have had a mind of winter, too.
Whut a babe. Sexy, psycho seeker. You know you want him, Skyfire.
