Vorrei solo abbracciare il mio cane. La mia bambina. Solo lei sa colmare i miei vuoti. L'unica vera amica che ho mai avuto e l'amore che mai tradirò e mai mi tradirà.

I'm writing some quality medical documentation, folks
How sweet 🙈😭
GASP I forgot to tell you!!! I had my first honest to god real life patient interaction this past Friday! We started clinicals and I followed a PT around where she works in a cardiac floor and I helped take a patient’s intake history and took real life blood pressures! Nothing fancy, but it was so neat working with a real person with not-pretend problems for the first time!
Also though I got really hot and dehydrated and almost fainted twice and the other student I was with took my blood pressure and it was super low and yeah I’ll need to work on that for next week.
The growing list of things I’ve done instead of study for boards
cleaned my room......twice......in one week so basically when I moved home I needed to put everything away but I also had to make room for all of those things and get rid of other things so the contents of my room pretty much vomited on itself twice and I cleaned it up both times but I’m happy now because my room is very clean
counted all the change my dad had in his change bucket it was $185.24 and unfortunately I don't get to keep it....
scrubbed my kitchen floor like Cinderella so the tile on my kitchen floor is textured meaning when you mop it you actually just push the dirt into all the cracks and grout making your floor dirtier therefore I spent 2 hours on my hands and knees scrubbing with a brush to clean the floor
I will continue to add to this as the weeks go on because I’m really good at procrastination 😜😬
So many craigiburns no upfields
Hopes & Fears & Personal Thoughts on Both
Doing some deep personal reflection on a Monday night and where better to share than Tumblr?
By the end of this week, I will be halfway through with my final clinical rotation on my journey to becoming a Physical Therapist. Cap ‘n Gown have been purchased, the dates are set, and I even have my first interview in the works. With all this whirling about in my mind, I have come across instances wherein despite being surrounded by a stupendously supportive family and friends group, I find myself falling into chasms of self-doubt.
My anxiety levels are snowballing into an avalanche of fear as the date of my licensing exam approaches and I am constantly burdened with its importance weighing down on me in the back of my mind. I am currently working alongside a brilliant and successful therapist who owns her practice and is amazing to watch as she comforts/retrains/educates her clientele with significant, observable improvements. All I think of at night is how badly I want that experience under my belt to provide that true meaning of quality care to those who need it.
These kinds of emotions can be extrapolated to any profession, so despite my fears and worries, I hope to share with those who read that even though we place these momentous burdens on our shoulders, the one thing you can never truly doubt is if you are on the right path. Seeing the looks on my patients’ faces when simple tasks become attainable goals after weeks and months and years of trying is worth every late, sleepless, agonizing night I spend to better myself and my skills so that I can gift it to them. My dream is to get as many people better as I possibly can, and I better work my tush off to make the impossible possible. And I can’t thank the beautiful souls in my life enough who send me small yet transformative words of encouragement and belief in my abilities on a regular basis or even once in a blue moon. From best friends to people I have only just met.
So what am I finally trying to get to at 10:30pm on a Monday after 12 hours of a meh day (on my part) at my rotation and now wiping up my sopping mess of emotions? Have faith in yourself and your abilities because it will reflect upon what you can accomplish. DO. NOT. EVER. GIVE. UP.
Three years ago today, I interviewed for PT school. 2 months after my interview while I am in a hotel room in Dublin, Ireland, I will get an email from my dad congratulating me on my acceptance to graduate school.
Today, I look over my notes from the past three years as I gradually prepare for my licensing exam to start my career in this field I love.
Never forget where you started.
