#ptc workshop

Another day of the workshop, just got back after going out with my friends to an ice cream parlor (gotta explore at least once before I hole up in my room alone and depressed). So far the workshop has been super duper fun, like I've been enjoying my time in the classes and the practical demos a lot. The professors and the student assistants are really nice and easy to talk to, and I'm having a blast!

We went to the forest genetics and tree breeding institute today for our second practical demo, it was really informative to see how the whole ptc process progresses coz they had samples at all varying stages of completion. Got to talk to one of the people who actually did the sampling and stuff, very insightful honestly. You don't really get that kind of information from theory classes. They've been doing this for 10+ years, they know the signs better than anyone else and it shows! Quite fascinating to see.

Then we went out for ice cream :D and now I'm in my room contemplating how I'm gonna wash and hang up my old clothes so they don't pile up. Ahhhhhhh just when I was having a good time reality shatters the illusion. The hostel I'm in doesn't provide washing facilities, so I have to do it by hand in the bathroom. At least the space is big so I can move around I guess. Welp, I'll eventually start going insane about it, so I guess yall will see the aftermath of that very soon lol XD

Final day of ptc workshop, God they had us roaming around so much my feet feel like they have bricks attached to them. If I'd known we'd be walking around that much I'd have worn my shoes. Instead kit suffered through wearing platform heels in the sun 😅 still, it was super fun!

We visited the botanical garden today, and learnt about ptc for ornamentals and medicinal plants. The prof there showed us the labs and the plants and it was so cool! So many plants for so many diseases, very interesting to see. After that, me and one of my friends went to check out a Section 8 building and enquire about internships and such, now we have their numbers if we wanna reach out for projects.

Now I'm in my room resting, I have my certificate and a sense of accomplishment for finishing this. My friends have already left the hostel, but I'll be here for a day or two more before I shift to my second internship. The loneliness is setting in already, I'm a little sad it's over so soon.

But hey, the experience counts, right? And I had fun, that's all that matters. Cheers to that!

Back in my room again after the workshop, it was very fun! I'm actually taking proper notes, I'm surprised by that lmao. I didn't think I'd have the energy or the willpower to do so after waking up by myself and getting ready (I'm not used to it), but I actually didn't feel tired today. Very odd, considering I didn't have breakfast or lunch. Welp.

Tomorrow they're gonna take us to the campus in the forest, I'm very excited about that. Hopefully they don't make us walk all the way there tho 🙏

So I'm finally back in my room now after the workshop, my back hurts like a bitch and my uterus is KILLING me, but other than that the day was fun! Met up with two of my friends (who will be with me for 4 days then I'll be on my own) and we even made a new friend! The lectures are informative, and the lab is really really cool. We'll probably not be allowed there again coz it's a plant tissue culture lab (lots of restrictions to prevent contamination), but we're still doing a lot of fun stuff and I'm happy.

The only downside is my uterus kicking my ass so hard all the professors got concerned for my twitching self XD I was going insane on the chairs lol.

My supposed roommate apparently vacated in the time I was gone (its a double sharing room), so now I'm all alone in my AC room hehehehehe.
