hmm.
a study on how tony felt about steve through the years, from when he was a child growing up listening to howard and aunt peggy’s stories, to when he finally met steve in person and became teammates with him.
tony always thought that captain america was the bravest soul of all, the man that everyone looks up to and strives to be. then tony didn’t have to just listen to stories anymore. he got to meet steve, he got to work with him, he got to experience everything that he grew up hearing about. it was a dream come true, being avengers with steve and, more than anything, being friends with steve.
then the stupid superhero spat happened and they had that battle in siberia. tony found out that steve wasn’t as perfect as he thought he was, that steve had his flaws too, that even captain america lied and ended up a disappointment sometimes. tony thought the world of steve, but was just let down yet again.
