she shouldn’t be laughing-- but she can’t help herself. watching Changmin get punched in the face when he was being an asshole is funny-- she bites back the giggles when he turns his gaze on her and takes a sip of her drink.  “we are in a restaurant dexter, you can’t get all angry in here. Do you want to go? I’ll clean you up. Get you a milkshake.”

She’s flirting-- she doesn’t realise it until the man’s hand is on her waist tugging her a little closer. The party is full--these fashion things normally well and the man in front of her was attractive--charming and very French. Maybe it’s the champagne that causes her to reciprocate his gentle touches, or it’s the tight white lace dress that makes her feel a little sexier than she normally would, or it’s spending days kissing Omar-- without really kissing him. There’s a part of her that feels rejected-- so a little male attention helps her champagne infused mood a little, until she hears a familiar voice behind her. “Oh-- Omar-- you’re here. This is Pierre--” She gets a good look at his face. “Hey-- what’s wrong?”

Shes laughing a little too hard and she’s hoping they don’t know the reason why. She’s one pill away-- from passing out on the bed upstairs and even though the party is fun-- and she is the life of it all-- what she really wants is some one on one time with someone that doesn’t want something from her. “Wanna go to the roof or something-- I’ve had enough dancing for one evening-- or the room-- I just want a little quiet.”

she doesn’t know why she goes there-- but she does it anyway. She looks like a broken doll-- with her wet hair and bruised neck-- she looks tarnished and she hats it. She sees his hair from the window--and she just knows it’s him. So she goes in, and sits opposite him without a word.  “I just got jumped. Probably your best friend making a point but tell him father wouldn’t appreciate him sending people to rough up his little princess.” her voice is steel despite the obvious pain she is in. “...Can you get me a coffee please? I’ll pay you back. It won’t do to owe the devil money.”

it takes a lot to text him back-- 

her fingers are trembling and she’s trying and failing to get the words out. They’re simple enough-- but she hasn’t told this particular lie in a long time.  she’s on a downward spiral and she isn’t even sure where it started-- but she was loosing grip and she can’t afford to. She’s a Park. They don’t lose grip and they don’t lose control.  the pressure is immense-- the kind that crawls in her lungs and makes breathing hard. It’s been at least 2 days since she ate something and the gnawing emptiness in her gut is comforting. She types out a reply without thinking. 

“Hey. I’m fine. How are you?”

Phoenix is too busy dancing to pay any real attention to the way the door slides open-- in fact she barely notices their presence until she stops-- she wrinkles her nose slightly-- more irritated at how disheveled she appeared than the person in front of her. “I said 7 is it-- 7?” She glances at the clock and sees the glowing letters 7:14. “Oh-- well-- fuckity fuckity fuckwit. Give me ten okay? So I can shower and stop looking so gross.”

She’s been watching them with someone else all evening-- and she isn’t sure what to call it, the gnawing in her gut that she is filling with tequila, and sushi-- but whatever it is-- it’s irrepressible. She is the queen at parties like this. Everyone surrounds her-- she is loud and vibrant and an all round good time. Everyone is here, laughing with her--dancing with her--except for them. She tries to focus on them. They...seem fine. Unaffected by her-- and it hurts more than she’d ever want to admit.  She makes her way out, looking for air, and when she finds the exit to the roof she is greeted with cold air and them. again. 

“Oh-- didn’t know you were up here. I’ll-- “  She clears her throat and steps back into the corridor.  “Pathetic Nix.”
