Location: 1946 Lombard Street 

Ambiance: Dimly Lit and Quiet 

Overall Experience: 4/5 Stars : Great Entrees, alright desert and close seating. Still good to go out to with a friend or a date.

As of now, I will add a “Now Listening” section to all of my blog entries, it’s a way to support other musicians that I know. 

Among the streets of South Philly are many hidden gems, and Pub and Kitchen is one of them. I booked this restaurant last minute while hanging with my friend Jen during a rainy evening. 

The seating was very tight, and did not provide as much privacy as one would be used to, however the ambiance was still pretty relaxing and the service was pretty good, however not as classy as I have been used to. None the less the servers at Pub and Kitchen did treat me and my friend very well. 

For an appetizer I ordered a Fulper Farm Ricotta Gnocchi 

I never had a gnocchi , but it was very similiar to a dumbling with a hint of a rabe flavor. I would definitely recommend this again. 

For our second course, I ordered a Roasted Lancaster Chicken with smoked roasted barley and dandelion greens. 

The Roasted Barley was very complimentary to the gnocchi flavor , granted I have usually not been a fan of collard greens, the dandelion greens packed a punch with the chicken which had a very lean flavor. 

My friend Jen ordered the Artic Char which would have been my second option. 

Desert here was anti climactic. The desert did not compare to the entrees and I believe the restaurant showed their strengths in their main course dishes. I ordered an apple pie and Jen ordered a chocolate brownie pudding. 

I dig apple pie, but I don’t dig foods covered in white creams/sauces/ garnishes, so I sacrificed the journey, but if you are a fan of white garnishes this is the pie for you.

Pub and Kitchen rocked, definitely an affordable and fun place to go out with friends.
