best thing about this publicity internship with a publication company is that i'm just informally handed books to keep indefinitely
i say that to say that i'm gonna read a book about the 1930s communist party in alabama

I really miss my internship at Bloomsbury USA. Nothing beat stuffing envelopes with hundreds of advanced copies and sending them out only to receive glowing reviews a few weeks later. There was so much love for books in the air that you breathed it in everyday. You mixed that love into your coffee and felt it when you opened a box of finished hard covers. Everything was beautiful and (pardon the cliche) nothing hurt. I just want to go back to there and never leave.
