heya marn i hope it's not weird for me to message you but i had a question?? i looked at that post by slimetony and i couldn't understand how it was anti-semitic; do you mind explaining? it just looked like he was joking about the foreskins and i don't want to be reblogging someone that's anti-semitic :C
yeah no prob! basically the gist is that a lot of jewish people find people of different faiths saying ‘lol the old testament is so wacky and wild!! look at these weird rules!!’ to be pretty offensive because it’s often used to make biblical verses look illegitimate (often in response to christians being anti-lgbt or anti-abortion, but sometimes not), even though a lot of people still actively practice those “”wacky”” rules and hold them pretty sacred (in the case of orthodox/ultra-orthodox jews). it’s also offensive because like…people have been trying to delegitimise judaism (often by making our religious practices out to be harmful or strange) for centuries so you should really, really think about what message you’re sending before you say stuff like ‘abrahamic faiths are a complete mystery how did this ever take off’.
idk maybe my other jewish followers have stuff to say about this too?? but that was my reading of it
