Though he wasn’t about to admit it, Tyler had been looking forward to this evening with Charlie ever since she brought it up to him. Not even so much because he had a thing for her (even though he sort of did), but because he needed something to distract him from the recent pressure he’d been under to step up his involvement with the gang. It was something he knew he wasn’t going to be able to avoid for long, and eventually he’d have to prove his commitment one way or another, but tonight he was really hoping to get it off his mind for at least a few hours with Charlie. They’d hung out together a few times since her lockout incident whenever he’d sell her a bag, but tonight would be a nice change of scenery from the usual business exchange followed by a casual smoke session on his couch and he was defintiely digging that. Still pretty unsure of what this “event” was supposed to be, Tyler decided to just keep it simple with dark jeans, a white v-neck, and a pair of Jordans. He didn’t go out too much, but he figured this would follow protocol well enough. Not like he cared what anyone else had to think anyway.
Tyler had offered to drive, knowing that it’d save time compared to if they decided to take the subway and money compared to if they’d decided to take a cab. Sure enough, it only took about a half hour, Tyler joking that it took a true New Yorker to get across town that quickly. He could have probably had a pretty successful career as a cabbie if he wasn’t so busy selling weed for a living. Parking felt almost like it took longer than the drive itself, but eventually they were on foot making their way towards the warehouse this little rendevous was being held in. “You said this was some kind of art thing, right?” Tyler asked curiously as they neared the building, starting to feel a little sketched out by the setting. Though, that was mostly due to the paranoia of someone always being after him. Especially since he was out of familiar territory. “So we’re not about to walk into some serial killer’s murder den.” Tyler clarified jokingly, getting more and more curious what this whole thing was going to be as he noted the various people coming in and out of the venue as they got closer. Some with damp clothes and paint splattered all over them, others with bizarre outfits and accesories. Now he was even more unsure about what the hell they were getting themselves into. “Well shit, looks like things are about to get interesting.” Tyler muttered to Charlie as they approached the short line of people outside of the entrance.
Late Thursday evening Charlie sat comfortably on her couch immersed in a pile of takeout menus. It had been a few months now that she’d been living in Brooklyn and while most of the surrounding food joints were up to par she was craving a little something more than the usual Chinese or Pizza spot. Her search not leading her very far. She’d taken to ordering from the same places more or less. Which she was suddenly regretting tonight. The only real option she had was getting out and finding somewhere on her own. Heaving a sigh, she rose from her spot and ventured towards the bedroom. Exchanging her comfortable sweats for a nearby pair of jeans. Instead of ditching the splatter bleach tanktop she simply slipped on a zip up hoodie to ward off any cold air.
Charlie collected her wallet and was in the process of searching the room for her keys when her cellphone began buzzing in the other room. Her focus shifted as she tried to catch it before missing the call. She snagged it just as she ringing stopped. “Damn.” She muttered watching as a missed call from her father popped up on screen. She called him back, making a beeline for the door all the while. It wasn’t until she heard the lock click as the door shut behind her that her brows furrowed in confusion. Something was missing. The familiar weight of her keys sitting heavily in her pocket was nonexistent. “You’ve got to be kidding me…” She muttered lowly as she hung up her phone. In annoyance she pursed her lips. What the hell was she supposed to do now?
We're up against Brittana and we're actually not as far behind as I thought we were going to be.. so vote, vote, vote! We might actually have a chance if all the quickers come together. :)
TIME FRAME: Tuesday afternoon on October 7th, 2014.
The last place Lexie ever expected herself to be right now was sitting in the waiting room, anxiously awaiting for her doctor to call her in for her apartment. Not even a day before, she had noticed that he period was late and normally, she wouldn't think twice over it, but something just didn't feel right. She was rarely ever late and knowing that she began having sex was just too much for her to ignore which was why she went to the gas station after she got enough courage and bought two pregnancy tests. The chances are of her being pregnant had be slim since her and Nate had only had unprotected sex one time and that's just what she kept telling herself, but there was that lingering thought in the back of her head that was reminding her that one time was all it took to get pregnant.
She tried to not think about how her life would be completely ruined if these tests came back positive, mostly because she didn't want to freak herself out for no reason. There was still a huge possibility that she wasn't pregnant and that was the hope she was holding onto while she read over the instructions on how to take the test. She had never done something like this before and she didn't want to end up screwing up somehow and getting the wrong result because she was a big enough moron not to do it right. Once she was finished, she placed both of the tests on the bathroom counter, pulling up her panties while she looked anywhere but at the sticks set out in front of her. The nerves she was feeling were indescribable and she just wished the couple of minutes it took would just be over already because it was pure torture.
Lexie pulled out her phone and noticed that the appropriate time had passed and she inhaled a breath, glancing down at the tests that were on the sink. Her gut wrenched and her heart sank, both tests having a positive plus sign and she instantly felt the tears start to well behind her eyes. This couldn't be happening was all she could think, knowing that the chances of two pregnancy tests being wrong was nearly impossible, so there was little to no hope that she wasn't actually pregnant. Her first instinct was to text Nate and tell him, knowing that she didn't want to be alone during all of this, but then she realized that she couldn't do that. No matter how much she needed him right now, she had to be sure that she was actually pregnant before she drug him into this. This was her fault and she needed to handle it on her own until she knew for sure that she was pregnant. After managing to calm herself down and stop crying, she brought her phone to her ear and made an appointment to see her doctor for the following day, knowing that she couldn't put it off any longer than just twenty-four hours to actually know.
That's how she ended up sitting alone in the waiting room, her life feeling like it was hanging by this small thread of hope that she had gotten some kind of faulty tests and that this was all some huge mistake. The sound of her name being called by the nurse caused her to head to shoot up, her heart rate picking up as she slowly stood up from the the chair she was sitting in to walk over to the woman. The few minutes it took to take her weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature felt like they dragged on for forever and when the nurse finally told her to get undressed and put on the night gown, the blonde nodded her head just slightly and did exactly what she told her to do. She made her way over to sit on the bed with her legs closed tightly, hating how revealed she felt right now, but there wasn't much she could do about it. Another five minutes passed and her doctor was walking into the room, greeting her with a high spirit before asking her what she could do for her and why she was here.
"Um, I took two home pregnancy tests and they were both positive, so I just wanted to make sure that they were right.." she said softly, brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear as the doctor explained what was going to happen. She wasn't far enough long to hear a heartbeat through a normal ultrasound, so she was going to have to do one vaginally. Her eyes rolled just slightly, hating that she was in this position at all, but she understood why so she laid down on the bed, hoisting her legs up into the stirrups as she inhaled another breath. Everything about this was awful and she just wished that she had someone there for some kind of support because she had never been so vulnerable in her life. She had been on the verge of crying this entire time and it was only getting worse the more the doctor talked to her. Lexie ignored the slight pain she felt when she was sliding the whatever this thing was inside of her, her eyes focusing on the screen that was over to her right since he knew that's where she could see anything that could possibly be there.
The doctor began to explain what they could see and then pointed to small flicker that was on the corner of the screen, the woman saying that it was a heartbeat and that she was definitely pregnant - five weeks along to be exact. Lexie felt her heart sink into the pit of her stomach as she starred at the screen, tears welling behind her eyes and she couldn't even bother to hold them back even if she was in front of someone else. It wasn't surprising when the woman explained that she did have options since she had taken note of how upset Lexie was and the blonde quickly shook her head. "No, I can't do that," she whispered, quickly wiping her eyes before she sat up once the doctor was finished, knowing that she couldn't just sit there and break down over this when she couldn't change it. "I don't know what I'm going to do," she breathed out, her throat tightening as she choked back another sob, everything that was going to be affected by this being the first thing on her mind.
Not only was she only nineteen, but she was in college and had her whole life ahead of her. Not to mention the fact that her parents were going to kill her. Then suddenly she remember what this was going to do to Nate. He was in love with someone else and also had a bright future ahead of him and she was about to ruin everything for him. This was just so awful and there was honestly nothing that she could do about it since abortion wasn't an option. The last thing she ever expected was for the doctor to ask if she wanted a picture of the ultrasound, Lexie's head darting over to look at her. The silence between them being extremely tense and she had no idea what she was suppose to say to her because a picture of it would just make it all that much more real. "Yeah, sure," she whispered, bringing her arms to wrap around her stomach, knowing that she was probably going to need some kind of proof that she was actually pregnant in case Nate questioned it. The moment the doctor said she would go get it and that she would be right back was the moment she let herself break down completely, not even caring that she was still in public but she couldn't hold it back anymore. Everything was ruined and it was all her fault and having to tell Nate was going to be the hardest thing she had ever done, but it had to happen.
As Tyler walked through the front door of his and Charlie’s new apartment, he couldn’t help but take a moment to reflect on the past few months leading up to this latest endeavour. Looking back on it now, he could hardly believe they were actually here. After countless weeks of planning and decision making, grueling arguments between he and his girlfriend, and laying awake at night worrying that they wouldn’t actually make it to Seattle, here they were, never to turn back. Dropping the boxes he was carrying onto the hardwood floor near the kitchen, Tyler took in a deep breath as he looked around the still very much bare apartment they would now call home. Apparently Charlie had heard him, because it wasn’t long before he saw her appear at the top of the curved, steel staircase that led to their lofted bedroom. “What, no big welcome home sign and confetti?” Tyler teased with a crooked smile as he made his way to the stairs to meet her at the bottom. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her into a tight embrace before leaning in for a long, lingering kiss.
After a few moments of indulging in his girlfriend’s kisses, Tyler pulled back an inch to lift an hour. “Now how to break the place in…” Tyler pondered with a mischievous grin on his face. He saw things happening one of two ways. Either they’d strip down and get straight to christening every surface of the apartment, or they’d break out the weed and smoke a joint or two first so he could wind down from the ridiculously long drive he’d endured. He would have been perfectly content with either option. So long as he and Charlie were together in their new home in this new city, things couldn’t have been better. “I’ll let you think on that, I’m gonna run to the bathroom.” Tyler said after a moment, finally realizing that it’d been hours since he’d last used the restroom. Planting one last kiss to his girlfriend’s lips and delivering a quick smack to her ass, Tyler disappeared down the hall to the bathroom.
Lexie: Confusing didn't even begin to describe how Lexie was feeling towards Nate recently and it was probably all her fault do the fact that she let herself get in so deep with him. Every time she was around him, her stomach went into knots and all she could think about was how good she felt with him inside of her. She didn't know what the hell was wrong with her or why she was letting herself feel this way for a man with a girlfriend, but she couldn't control herself. The past several weeks of them pretending like they were fine and that there was no sexual tension between them was almost torture and knowing that she was alone in that was probably one of the worst parts about the entire thing. The only time she really got some peace of mind was whenever he wasn't home since living together and seeing him constantly made it all that much more difficult. She usually stayed in her room a majority of the time, knowing it was best to keep space between them so that she didn't do something stupid. When she heard Nate leave to go somewhere, she took this opportunity to get into the shower since she felt more comfortable doing it without him there. Once she was completely clean, she grabbed a towel and rung out the water in her hair with it before wrapping it around her thin figure. Knowing he wasn't home, she decided to go get a water out of the fridge after a sudden thirst washed over her. Once she reached the kitchen, she caught sight of Nate sitting at the kitchen table and she felt a slight panic come over her since she was standing there in a towel. "I thought you were gone for the night," she explained, not wanting him to think she just walked into the kitchen wearing no clothes randomly, "I'm just getting some water."
