Have you seen the detective Pikachu trailer??? What do you think?
i have!!! in all honesty i want to be optimistic about it, but the trailer did not leave the best impression on me lol... i feel like the movie is trying very hard to be like “oho! pokemon isnt just for kids yknow, we can be edgy too! even pikachu has a potty mouth!”, in opposition to the like.. utopia presented by the games and movies lol. which like... is fine, but i feel like it’s a misrepresentation of the source material. if that makes sensei also feel like they went the wrong direction with making the pokemon “photo-realistic” or whatever they called it, like with the heavy texturing on comparatively-simple shapes... but at the same time, theyre not a travesty so i’ll take it! hopefully it will start to look better as we get more material lol
