Pug! Dredd!
I just want you all to know Pug Dredd is a thing.
from Judge Dredd #4 (2016)
My Pug Dredd!!!! sketch cover for work. I was going to do Edward Scissorhands, and then I remembered Pug Dredd was a thing.
I kind of want to get a Pug Dredd tattoo. For shits and giggles.
"Judge Dredd Mega-City Two City of Courts #5" End of the line. Douglas Wolk and Ulises Farinas finished off what is most definitely the weirdest Judge Dredd tale ever told, and this is coming from a comic book that once weaponized potatoes. The book is straight crazy, featuring a half fake police convention, an amazing cutaway of a giant car mover, and most importantly Pug Dredd. This is one of the extremely rare comics that pass the Wife Seal of Approval test, my wife actually wanted to read it, and that happens about once every two years. The amount of time, effort, and attention to detail is clearly apparent on every page, this is a labor of love, and it shows it. If you enjoy Wolk's writing, be sure to check out his regular column in the back of each issue of the current IDW Dredd ongoing.
I highly recommend it, if not because its one of the most original Dredd stories you'll ever read, then for Ulises's art, he's the best up and coming artist in comics today and you'll be seeing a lot more of his stuff in the future. RAW!!
The super-cute Pug Dredd from IDW's Judge Dredd Mega-City 2: City Of Courts #5, with delightful detail from the busiest brush in the business, the unrivalled Ulises Farinas!
Who with writer, critic and Judge Dredd superfan, Douglas Wolk, has crafted a very believable second Mega-City, on the sunnier West Coast of the former USA, but with very different values from Dredd's home, as the hero Judge is beginning to realise..much to his disgust!
Pug Dredd - Yay!
Did the organisers of the last Lawcon, not learn their lesson?! (see Megs3.76-79,1Apr-1Jul'01).
Read a preview mini-comic below:
Cosplay - Guinness the Pug as "Pug Dredd"
Thanks to Douglas Wolk and Ulises Farinas, Guinness has a new character to cosplay - Pug Dredd - introduced in the final issue of "Judge Dredd: Mega City Two - City of Courts."
The comic intro panel (shown above) gave me inspiration to quickly put together a Judge helmet for Guinn made from a hollowed out styrofoam wig head. I would need to hollow it a bit more as the visor doesn't quite fit over his bulgy eyes!
I'll probably do some cleanup on the helmet and then put it on the shelf for whenever he gets the urge to be the law.
