"Artemis Ascending" a tribute to the moonchild, goddess of the hunt and wild. Likewise this is also a stylized tribute to a well known artist @yoshitakaamano , of whom's work had a detailing impact during my youth. Gaming afterschool(and sometimes before 😉) were a common element during our exploration years, of discovery, escape or enhance- wherever we were then. The golden age of games( ps1, n64, dreamcast) were the 2nd pioneer (after famicom, saturn, genesis). Among a sea of songs then, Legend of Mana, Dragoon, Chrono Cross, FF7-10, Symphony of the Night, they all sung their melodies of life. Amano's work, upon a quick glimpse will often pull you right back for another. One time I randomly stumbled onto the Vampire Hunter D series, and can't help but asked, is that the same strange artist that did the cover art for ff8, or concept art for Square Soft? Amano's work speaks on a individualism volume, and remnant a transforming inspiration. Like how Nujabe brought us lofi, Van Gogh, robbed of his Atlas Shrugged, or the recent Banana on ducktape( I hate it btw, it speaks ill of my banana cult, and the arts). It is easy to blend into a era, any artist can make millions selling off their muse, and bleed into a culture. But to sustain your muse, and nurture it, becomes something else, it radiates, inspires. Much like Picasso, they all have a mastery over the fundamental of the arts, and then they tossed it aside and sung songs of reality beyond, marking their territory. This is my 6th year in the show industry. And the 11th year since my freelance days. When you are in this game for so long, and still are entrance by all it's continual excitements, much like any sustaining relationship, I think it will be ok. Like a hunt, this is a part of my series of work and a pilgrimage to discover the self, by revisiting, a rebirth of why and what guided our field of vision, then and now, and the hare, afoot the enchanted forest.
