Startling the pigeons

I just want to say "Hi!" when I come across a flock of pigeons feeding on some grains that someone had scattered on the grass. However my friendly gesture of a hand wave is causing an unintended consequence.   Unknowingly I startle the birds to react to my body language in fear by taking off into the air in a flight of frenzy. I move on to continue the run moments later after seeing the birds settling down peacefully to resume their feed on the grass.

Jungle Trekking

Look! A lucky encounter in a trek deep in the dense rain forest. In a little clearing on a hill trail and amid the lush vegetation we stumbled upon a tree stump ( the remnant of a felled tree ) hosting a growing disc-shape mushroom. Taking a break from jogging, I ventured into the jungle to hike in the hills at the invitation of my friend, Simon (blue shorts). Without him acting as a guide I would be completely lost if I were to wander in the forest alone by myself, not to mention finding my way out and back to civilisation.
