I got a few dolly related Christmas gifts from family and friends that I will post later, but I also took advantage of Groove’s Sample Sale to pick up a few discontinued dolls that I’ve always wanted for Christmas (sorry I had to use a flash with these but it’s very dark and gray here as there is a big snow storm coming in):
I have a customized original My Melody but always wanted one in original stock:
I’ve always loved Xiao Fan for how simple her stock was combined with the pop of color from the intensely purple wig (which is so soft!). I added some thicker lashes. Unfortunately since this was a Sample doll there’s always a chance something could be missing but I’ve never had it happen before - this doll was missing the bright blue fishnet stockings but everything else was there. I’ve added some mint stockings for now and ordered some stocking that should match the original fairly well:
Pullip 'La robe vert clair' was a collaboration doll with Lolita clothing brand Baby the Stars Shine Bright and is a gorgeous example of a Pullip Lolita doll:
And finally, Taeyang Koichi. Koichi was a Creator’s Label doll designed by Pullip doll customizer Sheryl Designs, who had previously designed Akemi for Groove. This Taeyang is hard to come by (and his companion Pullip Naoko is insanely difficult to get and a grail doll for many Pullip collectors - including me). Sheryl created many amazing custom Pullip family dolls (she isn’t currently doing customs) but seemed to have a particular love for Taeyang (and customized more of them than any other artist I’ve seen) so I’ve always wanted a Taeyang by her:
