Lucy is a customized Pullip doll🐈⬛🖤 http://unniedolls.com/lucy/
spending the weekend at my friends house to do doll stuff ^_^ i've learned to knit specifically to make sweaters for our pullip and blythe. i knit three of the four here today so my hands are sore lol
we sorted all of our doll clothes and divided it so each girl has her own wardrobe with a specific style
the blue haired pullip is named LAZR Ray and we had sooo much fun thinking of her character. she's a dj. the other one just had her face wiped, but she's Zora for now and will be an edgy lolita-esque character :)
I got a few dolly related Christmas gifts from family and friends that I will post later, but I also took advantage of Groove’s Sample Sale to pick up a few discontinued dolls that I’ve always wanted for Christmas (sorry I had to use a flash with these but it’s very dark and gray here as there is a big snow storm coming in):
I have a customized original My Melody but always wanted one in original stock:
I’ve always loved Xiao Fan for how simple her stock was combined with the pop of color from the intensely purple wig (which is so soft!). I added some thicker lashes. Unfortunately since this was a Sample doll there’s always a chance something could be missing but I’ve never had it happen before - this doll was missing the bright blue fishnet stockings but everything else was there. I’ve added some mint stockings for now and ordered some stocking that should match the original fairly well:
Pullip 'La robe vert clair' was a collaboration doll with Lolita clothing brand Baby the Stars Shine Bright and is a gorgeous example of a Pullip Lolita doll:
And finally, Taeyang Koichi. Koichi was a Creator’s Label doll designed by Pullip doll customizer Sheryl Designs, who had previously designed Akemi for Groove. This Taeyang is hard to come by (and his companion Pullip Naoko is insanely difficult to get and a grail doll for many Pullip collectors - including me). Sheryl created many amazing custom Pullip family dolls (she isn’t currently doing customs) but seemed to have a particular love for Taeyang (and customized more of them than any other artist I’ve seen) so I’ve always wanted a Taeyang by her:
I got a couple more of the Pullip crafting doll Yeolume dolls (and the crafting doll sewing patterns):
The gray haired doll is available from the regular Groove website, the red haired doll is a store exclusive for the Yuzawaya hobby shop in Japan and can be ordered from their online shop:
Here are some more pics of my new Pullip Crafting Doll Yeolume as well as another Yeolume I was able to pick up from Groove’s sample sale, Rei Ayanami.
First I wanted to show a quick comparison - usually I use Obitsu 22 bodies for my Yeolume dolls and all my custom Yeolume are on them (and will stay on them) but I wanted to try the 22cm option of the YMY 24 bodies to see how I like them (sorry the lighting isn’t great):
As you can see the proportions are pretty much the same but the necks are different; the YMY neck is shorter (and matches the length on the original Yeolume body) but I think it looks more natural. I’m not sure why the smaller Obitsu have such long necks, I don’t think the 26cm bodies I use for my Pullips have that.
And here are both of my new Yeolume looking very charming:
And I wanted to note something else I found interesting about the white haired crafting doll. A few years back when Groove announced they were going to release a new Yeolume (after not releasing any for about a decade I think) they showed a doll they initially indicated would be the new release but then only actually made available in very limited (50 dolls total) quantities and only for purchase through a raffle. Those of us Yeolume fans were disappointed not to be able to purchase the new doll - called Butzzi - and I personally was disappointed that the new Yeolume we did get were all part of an IP like Hatsune Miku or the Evangelion dolls. Not that I don’t like those but I was looking for original designs too.
Anyway, looking at the white haired crafting doll I realized that this specific doll is an alternate color way of Butzzi (sorry the Butzzi image isn’t super clear there are very few pictures available):
So if like me you are a Yeolume fan and always regretted you couldn’t get Butzzi this doll is a really nice alternative.
The only thing better than a day off is a day off that is ALSO a dolly mail day. All of these will get a more in depth post later but here are a few quick pics.
Package one contained my super cute Crafting Doll from JP Groove, Pullip family doll Yeolume (I know I’ve mentioned how much I love Yeolume previously so I was super excited to see Groove created so many different versions for their craft doll line):
Package two contained my gorgeous artist doll, vintage mod fashion doll inspired Argigi:
And finally, a tiny package with a couple of new wigs and a few pairs of shoes from Joey Versaw for the gorgeous Petite Mary Magpie dolls I bought from him previously:
