I'm sorry but Pulse9's Eternity is an ongoing disaster
I'm not even talking about the ramifications this will have on the entertainment industry as a whole either, just the possibility that they could use someone's likeness and make money off it for who knows how long before they speak up.
So many seem to forget that ai learns and it has to learn from somewhere, so like where is it sourcing it's material "building blocks" from?
The entire concept of ai people is a nightmare all the way around. It could be used to abuse and push people so far in a number of ways.
And I know people have said there's no way it'll take over kpop as a whole because it's the sentimental and empathetic connections with celebrities that fans crave to bond with their idols. That the MV is also unsettling because supposedly the dancers don't match the faces. And no matter how much the company says this is just a fun experiment it's the fact that they're trying at all that is opening every single individual up to unapproved profit off their likeness. Not to mention they aren't paying those dancers the same as idols. Those dancers deserve better.
It's more than just a fun experiment, it's beginning to become a human rights issue and that no one's openly saying it yet should be a red flag.
How many people have to make thinkpiece movies about robots taking over for people to realize ai is not a good thing, not to mention it always reflects the biases of the group programing the system. Remember apples face lock feature opening for any Asian face? And the only comforts we have as people is that ai will never be smarter than the people working on it. Considering the intellectual decline in the recent decades, I don't think they'll take over the world, but who's to say they won't destroy some facet of enjoyment in our lives for a rich guys profit.
Can we go back to trending street performers?
