"CORNELIUS!" The shriek comes from somewhere down the hall-- could be mistaken for your alarmed mother, but it is only your little brother. Gloyd comes sliding down the polished floorboards, using the wall at the opposite end of the hall as a bumper, and finally propelling himself forward into Cornelius' room.
Gloyd’s loud shriek easily grabbed the attention of Cornelius. He immediately called out “Gloyd?” to him, wondering why he sounded so anxious. Cornelius was about to walk out of his room to see what Gloyd was so anxious about, but Gloyd darted into his room before he could even walk out the door.
"Yes, Gloyd? Is everything alright?" he asked his younger brother. He could only imagine Gloyd was anxious for one of two reasons: he was either really upset, or really excited.
