Why can’t GOT7 chart well? I wish they do something like Hard Carry that is loved by the public instead. 😭😭😭
who said the boys aren’t charting well? other than melon, the boys charting is really good. yes, melon is a big chart but it is just one chart out of the many other kcharts there is. plus, we all know that charts can be rigged.
i don’t understand why everyone thinks that got7 = hard carry? yes, hard carry is one of the representative songs of them. whenever they go on variety shows, it is that one song that plays but here’s the thing, would you rather got7 be making music that is /their/ sound and music that they love doing or what you rather they do something that the “public” will like? when i say /their/ sound, i meant that taking a song and owning it + being happy performing it.
here’s the thing, nobody really knows what the general k-public likes. from what i understand the songs that rank on melon are mostly ballads, ost etc as for kpop groups that rank on melon are mostly the groups with a solid and huge k-fanbase or a group that is well recognized by the public. also, the melon charts is also very random on rainy days, songs that are more gloomy/about the rain will rank very high whereas on sunny/bright days maybe more “fresh”/bright songs will rank so technically you can never know what the public likes since the public consists of such a huge audience so you can never really please everyone.
maybe this song isn’t to your taste but you can’t force your expectations, of course we all have expectations on certain things but you can’t force it on that person or start finding faults when it is not up to what you want. likewise the boys didn’t force you to like the album so you can’t force them to do something that they might not want to do.
i understand that everyone is anxious and of course we want a win for got7 because that’s what they deserve but here’s the thing. this is not the time to be pointing fingers or finding faults what we can do is stream, vote and promote the boys.
trust me, i want a win for the boys of course. however please don’t let that want to have a first win become an obsession, don’t fixate yourself on that issue only. instead enjoy the comeback with the boys and celebrate their milestones with them. there’s nothing more important than enjoying your journey with them.
That last ask response👏🏼 I feel like everyone is obsessed with the charts lately and it's taking the fun out of the comeback. I hate how people compare Lullaby to Hard Carry or If You Do. But those eras are over and people need to move on. Like I understand some people may prefer a certain sound over another. I know I do but all this obsession over Melon is so :///
i mean there’s so many genres and concepts to try. you can’t expect the boys to just stick to one concept or genre. personally, i like fly a lot but if you ask me would i want a second fly or for got7 to do what they want, of course i want them to do something they really enjoy.
as for melon, of course i want them to chart well on melon and i stream on melon too but here’s the thing. you can’t take away the credits and achievement of what the boys/fans done just because of melon. there’s so many other charts out there that got7 are doing well on. and we all want a win for all the eras but if we keep fixate on just that issue and start pointing fingers, we are going to miss out on enjoying the time and journey with the boys.
a lot of the time stamps are, when they debuted, when got7 debuted, their birthdays, concert (I think?)
dfjkajfdsa YES ALMOST.

i read a post about how we are ungrateful for talking about jyp like this and i feel guilty but i still feel there is nothing done by the company for this comeback.
i really had to open a words document to type my reply to this because i want to pen down my thoughts properly.
first of all i want everyone to know that nobody gets to tell you what kind of fan you are? nobody gets to call you ungrateful in the fandom? unless got7, themselves, came out and said we are horrible fans which they won’t and they didn’t or unless you did something that will hurt the group or any of the members. everyone in a fandom has different opinions just because someone’s opinion is different from yours doesn’t give you the rights to call them names. also, it is truly ugly to be manipulative or guilt tripping people like this.this whole thing with jype managing got7 poorly has been going on since their debut but it just kinds of blew up this time because there is really a lack of care from the company for this comeback. also, this time even K-Ahgases spoke up about it.
i’m going to put a disclaimer here and say that when i say JYPE i meant the company not the man who wore plastic pants and that nobody is trying to hate on other JYPE artists/trainees. also, if you don’t agree with whatever i state below. let’s just agree to disagree. also this is going to be a long reply so i will just put it under read more.
- the lack of media attention to got7’s comeback this time. i think i can count the number of articles just on one hand that came out about got7’s comeback. which is truly sad, if JYPE could have done that cheap mediaplay (which nobody asked for and needed) on the day of never ever, you would really think they would do something for this comeback since the concept is so refreshing.
- the interview that got7 was made to do. some of the interview questions were truly unnecessary? most of the questions were asking them about other boy groups or asking them how they feel about the company debuting another boy group or even rumours about Jackson leaving. bambam literally said in the interview that they don’t like being compared. what is the point of asking them about other boy groups then just throwing like what 3 questions about their comeback? wasn’t it suppose to be a GOT7 interview?
- JYPE rejecting schedules for got7. yes, i know that most schedules are planned before hand probably like a year before, especially for Japan schedules, but there is the thing if you are going to keep giving schedules to overseas events beforehand for the cash. you are never going to get a free slot for the boys to go on variety shows when the producers call up. these producers don’t call up like a year before, they call up probably a few weeks/a month before filming.
Shows like Happy Together and Running Man are huge programs that can get got7 that small public recognition that they need. you see once you decline the producers offer, they are not going to wait around for another to year or call frequently to get your idols on the shows. the kpop industry are full of idol groups who would love to go on shows like these.
- got7 despite being the 3rd group to bring in the most profits, they don’t have their own TF team which is basically a group of staff that manages and promotes GOT7 only. yes, making a TF team cost some money…but got7 is literally the 3rd most profitable group last year and they are almost 4 years into their debut.
- we have no youtube quests, no streaming events for this comeback, nothing about the dance practice being released beforehand. we literally had to go on v app to see oh there is dance practice scheduled at 6pm KST. also, the got2day? i don’t even know what to say about it. i would rather the time be used for the boys to rest.
- before you all say that but “GOT7 IS MEANT TO BE AN INTERNATIONAL GROUP!!!!” yes, we know that. however you can be recognized overseas while promoting domestically too. having international members already gave got7 the upper hand to reach out to more international fans. isn’t it time for them to focus on domestic popularity already? at the end of the day they are a kpop group. also, how many times have we heard about the boys looking at the charts to they fell asleep, going to the living room to wait together before their song is released, youngjae deleting melon or even what mark said at the arrival showcase. at the end of the day, no matter what they say they obviously have the hope to do well domestically.
it’s not like got7 does not have the potential to do well domestically. they are always prasied by broadcasting stations for being humble and polite. jaebum’s song writing skills, markjin’s visuals, jackbam’s variety skills, youngjae’s vocals, yugyeom’s dancing. they have that potential but they just need that small push to get the recognition.
they didn’t even get the chance to promote properly domestically during debut era in Korea before jype literally ship them to Japan but okay lmao.
- albums being understocked. this entire thing is a joke. got7 has always been strong in their physicals. how are you going to tell me you don’t have the stocks available for fans to buy? especially since the first week sales is so important.
for arrival, correct me if i’m wrong, about 150K physical sales for the first week and you are going to tell me that there isn’t 150K albums available for this comeback when you should have expected that since jjproject’s comeback did bring in some new fans.
yes, got7’s comeback might have met with the holiday season but jype knew that. they have the comeback plans right before their eyes and you are going to tell me that they never foresee this happening? isn’t it a common sense or business knowledge that if you foresee something happening when you are going to launch a new product, you will have to come up with a plan or do something to counter it. how is anyone going to justify that?
anyways i got more things i want to say but i am just going to stop here because i’m truly tired and inkigayo is starting. before i end this love reply i just want to say again, it is fine if you want to speak up for jype but don’t do around guilt tripping others just because they don’t.
why didn’t you post anything on Jackson’s new mv? he is part of Got7 too.
i never said that he isn’t part of got7? when his music video dropped, i was sleeping because i have morning classes today. i have to juggle between school, work, my personal life, keeping up with got7 and many other stuff.
furthermore, if you followed my blog you will know that i have not been in the best state of mental health. i have been dissociating from everything lately and my anti-depressants make it difficult for me to concentrate as it drains my energy.
please understand that just because i don’t create content for jackson’s music video doesn’t mean that i don’t see him as a part of the group.
What do you think about stray kids/ jyp debuting another boy group?
honestly, everyone knows i love jype artists. i think jype has produced many talented artists be it whether the artist has already left the company or not. also, i believe that every trainee should be given the chance to debut. however i am too old or too tired (?) i guess to get into another group.
i’m just going to put a disclaimer here and say that this is my personal opinion. if people want to be jype apologists then i can’t control it
i heard the song and it’s not the style of music for me. i mean if you like it then great! i respect that! but i just don’t like songs with that kind of rap styles in it and honestly i think they have the potential to be a great group.
as for jype debuting another boy group, it was expected, it just we didn’t know when it will happen. i have never hoped much from how they manage their artists, i mean from wonder girls to 2pm to 2am to 15& to got7 to their solo artists….i know that the company didn’t have the best marketing or management team but i guess i really just gave up after how they threw bambam and mina under the bus for that cheap mediaplay that wasn’t even needed.
am i bitter? yes, i will admit i am. it is disappointing to see that they are releasing the teasers and news of the survival shows during the time when they were releasing the teasers for got7 and just a day after got7′s comeback.
also i’m just bitter that got7 was never given the chance to have exposure before debut. yeah we got jjproject but those two boys? they were preparing for their comeback before jype literally went and said you know what we are going to put them in another group but we don’t know when they will debut. in the kpop scene if you don’t have regular comebacks when you are rookies, you are not going to get that exposure. sure, we got that win episode with markson and bamgyeom but they appeared for like what 4 minutes? and that’s all. the boys never had a show of their own before debut.
anyways at this point as an ahgase i don’t hope much from jype but for them to allow the boys to do the kind of things/music they want and to keep them healthy.
