My day, tl;dr: if you haven't seen it on your dash yet, Homestuck updated yesterday (25.10) and the fandom cried enough tears to fill a small lake.
Longer version: there I was, tottering out of bed at nine in the morning and checking tumblr. The very first thing I saw was "ok im ready for another gigapause"
Oh hey, a new update, I thought. I should check it out. Seems like it's really awesome if people are ready for gigapause again. What could make us ready to wait another year? In other words, I was a sweet summer child who had not yet suffered the pain of [S] Game Over.
The update managed to kill between five to eight main characters (in a flash that lasted five minutes). Jury is still out on three of them, because one seems to go by their own rules when it comes to death and the other two... well, I for one am in denial about the severity of stab wounds through torso, because they cannot be dead, too, can they, oh my gods.
Rest of the day was mostly spent in shock, denial and looking at other people in the internets experience the same after watching the flash.
SO made dinner, that raised my spirits.
Death may be relatively cheap in Homestuck and some of the characters may be on their third or fourth round, but that doesn't mean I think "eh, they'll come back" when my favourites die. More like "oh gods, is this the time it will finally stick? Nooooo..."
Yeah.
