Ok, listen. Bout that upd8: PART 2.

ok ok so yesterday I made a post called “Ok, listen. Bout that upd8″ right after yesterdays upd8, and I have a little bit of a different view now. So hear me out. 

I’m crying rn?? I care about Vriska a lot, and seeing her in despair, sobbing, crying on the floor, begging for Meenah to stay just broke my heart a little. Even though she’s a little different now, she is still vriska. I’m actually kind of speechless and upset, so I’ll try to get my view on these two Vriska filled upd8s out as nice as I can.

Alright, lets start with one thing. I don’t hate either of the Vriskas. I love them both, with both of their qualities. Though yesterday I seemed to forget that the new Vriska hasn’t seen what punk!vriska has seen over the past 3 years. I actually feel bad for punk!vriska a whole lot, man; the post I made yesterday came out a little jumbled. Vriska Serket is CRYING. I guess I was trying to convince myself that she wasn’t really “Vriska” anymore. Fuck that shit. I love punk!Vriska and new Vriska no matter what.

Alive Vriska could cry too if you hit her feelings the right way; they’re the same person. They’ve just been through different things. 

Now, if you excuse me, I’m gonna go hug punk!vriska. I love her too much. I hate to see her this way. </3

vriska: *is VERY similar to karkat, right down to the self-hate and needing to be a leader, who is adored by the fandom*

vriska: *is, admitedly, a bad person, but that does not change the fact that 1 she has proven that she can change given time and the right circumstances and 2 IS!! MENTALLY!!! ILL!!!!*

me: *was in the same boat previously, but after giving the whole thing some thought, has come to these conclusions and redacts my past statements*

Literally, all the response I’ve seen from the Homestuck fandom so far kind of pisses me off in a way. Why the fuck are you pitying (Vriska) aka punk!Vriska??

Sure, alive Vriska said some shitty things. But punk!Vriska isn’t Vriska any more. The Vriska we knew would never be upset, let alone cry if some shit was spat at her. She’d fight back, or brush it off like no big deal. Punk!Vriska isn’t positive character development; its more like character change. 

I feel like alive Vriska was testing her, just to see how different they really were. Or if you guys wanna take the other route, you could say those mean things she was saying was how she truly felt about herself, inside, I guess; and was just directing it towards another version of herself to let it all out. 

I don’t care how much you guys prefer the whiney, sappy, “happy” little punk!Vriska over alive Vriska. I will always love alive Vriska over her any day, because she is VRISKA. The scorpio. The “huge 8itch.” The moirail to Terezi and the one that actually cares about some of her friends. The one who gets shit done, gives shit to other people, and doesn’t take shit back. 

Instead of some fake-happy wimp like punk!Vriska who hung out with Meenah instead of going to find her other dead friends. 

Look, I don’t hate punk!Vriska. I’m just very upset that people would prefer that version of Vriska over the alive one.

That’s just my opinion, mkay? Vriska is one of my most favorite characters and I really despise when people don’t take her actual character into consideration.
