what a jerk I think he`s an interestingly crafted character. I was always fascinated with the concept of what we would be like without emotions. Although I`m not an empath the way Konoe is supernaturally, I`ve always felt like I`m quite the sensitive person who always wears her heart on her sleeve, and sometimes I wish I could get rid of it. But when I encountered a character that has literally extracted all of his emotions in order to make himself into the “perfect” calculating machine I was just baffled by the concept. And it shows how much that if we lose the emotions we have, we become completely…well, we don`t even exist I think. He loses all care for life and will literally use it as a play thing to achieve the new world that will eradicate emotion and leave nothing but perfect beings. And yet without emotions, as I have said, we`re really incomplete. (God Lamento is such an intense story don`t get me startED)

I think he is very tragic and also a good example to learn from when it comes to matters of the heart. To run from the heart is not what we should be seeking, but to confront those weaknesses instead of “eliminating them.”

when he’s feeling particularly stressful, zy finds it relaxing to go out into the forest to wander or just sit and think. sometimes he’ll even take a nap or bring lunch or a book to read.

Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?

zy’s a realist when keeping his future in mind—he knows things won’t always seem like some fairy tale, and he can’t expect everything to work out perfectly. but as long as he makes the most of his circumstances and can be happy with both himself and with the people he’s with, he’ll be glad with how things ended up.

In a magic series or not, are they accepting, or is each instance a shock?

in this specific au, regarding regaining memories: although he’d accept them as something true, it’d likely take him a while to come to terms with the memories of his past life, and he’d find difficulty in grappling with them. he’d process it mostly internally, though the emotional turbulence caused by it would spill over into his outwards behavior. still, it wouldn’t really shock him—it’d feel too much like déjà vu for that.
